Tool carrier

Flexible fingers meshed together in hinged container secure working tools and parts around waist or thigh of workman. Hairbrush-like fingers across carrier interior allow tool placement from top or bottom without visual coordination.

Helium Leak Measurements Using CO2 as a Carrier

Detection delay defects are omitted by using helium mass spectrometer leak detector combined with several known procedures. Technique combines carbon dioxide purging, cryogenic separating helium accumulation, and use of carbon dioxide as carrier gas.

Minority carriers in graphite.

Quantum oscillations as a function of magnetic field in the Hall effect and thermoelectric power are studied in two samples of pressure-annealed pyrolytic graphite. Only the oscillations originating from minority-Fermi-surface carriers are discussed. Frequencies of the de Haas-van Alphen type are measured over a wide range of angles between the magnetic field and the c axis of the Brillouin zone. Results are given graphically and analyzed.

Automatic carrier acquisition system for phase-lock-loop receivers

Programmable oscillator and zero-beat detector acquires phase-lock of carrier by frequency scanning. Generation of high-level dc pulse at instant of zero crossing provides positive trigger for decision gate to stop search and close loop for phase-coherent tracking.

Investigation of traveler acceptance factors in short haul air carrier operations

The development of a mathematical model for human reaction to variables involved in transportation systems is discussed. The techniques, activities, and results related to defining certain specific inputs to the model are presented. A general schematic diagram of the problem solution is developed. The application of the model to short haul air carrier operations is examined.

Trends in Commuter Air Carrier Operations

The market for commuter air service is analyzed. Methods for reducing the costs of short haul air transportation are discussed. The problems facing the operators of short haul air transport services are identified. Proposed changes in commuter air carrier regulation are submitted.

Research and applications modules /RAM/ - A family of payload carriers.

RAM is a family of payload carriers, pressurized, unpressurized and pressurizable, that operate in conjunction with the Space Shuttle and associated space systems to provide modular facilities to conduct manned or man-tended research in low earth orbit. RAM family elements are discussed as the next step in evolution from the Sortie Laboratory required to provide a significant increase in experimental capability, flexibility, and economy necessary to meet the needs of an expanding program of research and applications activities. Examples of RAM missions and operations as sortie mission laboratories and observatories, and free-flying man-tended observatories are illustrated.

Iron-titanium-chromite, a possible new carrier of remanent magnetization in lunar rocks.

Magnetic measurements of synthetic titanchromites reveal a characteristic transition at low temperature, making it possible to identify the presence of titanchromites in lunar rocks 12063, 14321 (dark clasts), and 14310. It is shown that titanchromites with a high chromium content could be the carriers of intermediate stability natural remanent magnetization observed in lunar rocks. Such natural remanent magnetization is acquired by transition thermoremanent magnetization at low temperature and cannot be duplicated by laboratory thermoremanent magnetization imparted above room temperature. The latter process will not yield the correct lunar paleointensity.
