Nickel Cadmium Cell Design Variable Program Data Analysis

A program was undertaken to evaluate eight of the more important nickel-cadmium cell designs that are currently being used or that have been used during the past 15 years. Design variables tested in this program included teflonated negative plates, silver treated negative plates, light plate loading level, no positive plate cadmium treatment, plate design of 1968, utilizing both old and new processing techniques, and electrochemically impregnated positive plates. The data acquired from these test packs in a low Earth orbit cycling regime is presented and analyzed here. This data showed conclusively that the cells manufactured with no positive plate cadmium treatment outperformed all other cell designs in all aspects of the program and that the cells with teflonated negative electrodes performed very poorly.

Computer program for compressible flow network analysis

Program solves problem of an arbitrarily connected one dimensional compressible flow network with pumping in the channels and momentum balancing at flow junctions. Program includes pressure drop calculations for impingement flow and flow through pin fin arrangements, as currently found in many air cooled turbine bucket and vane cooling configurations.

Computer program for flexible rotor dynamics analysis

Program analyzes general nonaxisymmetric and nonsynchronous transient and steady-state rotor dynamic performance of bending- and shear-wise flexible rotor-bearing system under various operating conditions. Program can be used as analytical study tool for general transient spin-speed and/or non-axisymmetric rotor motion.

Small-Signal ac Analysis

Program simulates power circuits and systems. Small Signal A.C. Analysis program (SSAC) valuable tool for design and analysis of electrical-power-system circuits. By combining "black box" power-system components operating in specified manner, user characterizes system modeled. Menu-driven program proved simple and cost effective in development and modification of arbitrary power-system configurations. Package includes sample data from Dynamic Explorer satellite family. Results compared favorable to calculations from such general circuit-analysis programs as SPICE. Written in FORTRAN 77.

Fortran 4 program for two-impulse rendezvous analysis

Program determines if rendezvous in near space is possible, and performs an analysis to determine the approximate required values of the magnitude and direction of two thrust applications of the upper stage of a rocket firing. The analysis is performed by using ordinary Keplerian mechanics.

Study 2.5 final report. DORCA computer program. Volume 5: Analysis report

A modification of the Dynamic Operational Requirements and Cost Analysis Program to perform traffic analyses of the automated satellite program is described. Inherent in the analyses of the automated satellite program was the assumption that a number of vehicles were available to perform any or all of the missions within the satellite program. The objective of the modification was to select a vehicle or group of vehicles for performing all of the missions at the lowest possible cost. A vehicle selection routine and the capability to simulate ground based vehicle operational modes were incorporated into the program.

Program for Analysis and Enhancement of Images

Land Analysis System (LAS) is collection of image-analysis computer programs designed to manipulate and analyze multispectral image data. Provides user with functions ingesting various sensor data, radiometric and geometric corrections, image registration, training site selection, supervised and unsupervised classification, Fourier domain filtering, and image enhancement. Sufficiently modular and includes extensive library of subroutines to permit inclusion of new algorithmic programs. Commercial package International Mathematical & Statistical Library (IMSL) required for full implementation of LAS. Written in VAX FORTRAN 77, C, and Macro assembler for DEC VAX operating under VMS 4.0.

Control system design and analysis using the INteractive Controls Analysis (INCA) program

The INteractive Controls Analysis (INCA) program was developed at the Goddard Space Flight Center to provide a user friendly efficient environment for the design and analysis of linear control systems. Since its inception, INCA has found extensive use in the design, development, and analysis of control systems for spacecraft, instruments, robotics, and pointing systems. Moreover, the results of the analytic tools imbedded in INCA have been flight proven with at least three currently orbiting spacecraft. This paper describes the INCA program and illustrates, using a flight proven example, how the package can perform complex design analyses with relative ease.

A Simplified Shuttle Payload Thermal Analyzer /SSPTA/ program

A simple thermal analysis program for Space Shuttle payloads has been developed to accommodate the user who requires an easily understood but dependable analytical tool. The thermal analysis program includes several thermal subprograms traditionally employed in spacecraft thermal studies, a data management system for data generated by the subprograms, and a master program to coordinate the data files and thermal subprograms. The language and logic used to run the thermal analysis program are designed for the small user. In addition, analytical and storage techniques which conserve computer time and minimize core requirements are incorporated into the program.
