2017 National Household Travel Survey—Georgia Add-On

The National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) ran from April 19, 2016, through April 25, 2017. It collected data on the demographic and socioeconomic composition of households, as well as detailed information on travel behavior nationwide. State transportation departments and metropolitan planning agencies had the opportunity to purchase extra household samples as part of the NHTS add-on program. These additional samples, along with national samples collected in the add-on areas, are compiled for use in transportation planning, forecasting, and research. The Georgia Department of Transportation participated in the NHTS add-on program and received a total of 8,631 household samples in Georgia. (The total number of household samples nationwide is 129,112.)

MUPPET: An automated OpenMP mutation testing framework for performance optimization

MUPPET is a tool for OpenMP programs that identifies program modifications, called mutations, aimed at improving program performance. Existing performance optimization techniques, including profiling-based and auto-tuning techniques, fail to indicate program modifications at the source level thus preventing their portability across compilers. MUPPET aims to help HPC developers reason about performance defects and missed opportunities to improve performance at the source code level.

Technical Basis Update for the Design Life Extension of the SAVY-4000® Series of Containers

This technical basis update focuses on the design life of the SAVY-4000® (hereafter “SAVY”) series of nuclear material storage container (e.g., used to store, transport, and handle special nuclear material outside of a glovebox), previously approved under DOE Manual 441.1-1, Nuclear Material Packaging Manual. The SAVY is approved for storing all authorized contents for a period of 15 years. The lifetime extension technical basis is established on the compiled technical data from the on-going SAVY and Hagan surveillance programs, destructive analysis results, accelerated aging studies, and performance testing, in line with the regulatory rigor of DOE M441.1-1.

Lowering and Runtime Support for Fortran’s Multi-Image Parallel Features using LLVM Flang, PRIF, and Caffeine

This paper provides an overview of the multi-image parallel features in Fortran 2023 and their implementation in the LLVM flang compiler and the Caffeine parallel runtime library. The features of interest support a Single-Program, Multiple-Data (SPMD) programming model based on executing multiple “images”, each of which is a program instance. The features also support a Partitioned Global Address Space (PGAS) in the form of “coarray” distributed data structures. The paper discusses the lowering of multi-image features to the Parallel Runtime Interface for Fortran (PRIF) and the implementation of PRIF in the Caffeine parallel runtime library. This paper also provides an early view into the design of a new multi-image dialect of the LLVM Multi-Level Intermediate Representation (MLIR). We describe validation and testing of the resulting software stack, and demonstrate that performance compares favorably to another open-source compiler and runtime library: GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) gfortran and OpenCoarrays, respectively.

Dtc Commercialization Software Package

This code is the complete software and firmware components supporting DTC model radios H2 and BluSDR6. This software package contains all the hardware boot up code/config files(BSP), user space Linux code (Web, Network, MAC (media access control) & drivers), the field programable gate array HDL (hardware description language) code and the build environment to compile and organize these components together to work in the aforementioned radios. Additional details of these components are as follows: • Hardware support components o Board support package and configuration files o uBoot • Linux Components: o The web components include the user interface for setup, configuration, and status components of the system. o Vulture code configures the radio’s IP network, configures radio parameters and runs the MAC layer of the radio. • The Field Programmable Gate Array HDL contains hardware drivers, interface logic to go between the software to the physical layer and the radio hardware as well as the logic for the physical layer of the radio. • Build environment includes compilers and config files that compile and organize all the other components to be able to be run on the radios.

The Compilation and Validation of the Spectroscopic Redshift Catalogs for the DESI-COSMOS and DESI-XMM-LSS Fields

Over several dedicated programs that include targets beyond the main cosmological samples, the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument collected spectra for 304,970 unique objects in two fields centered on the COSMOS and XMM-LSS fields. In this work, we develop spectroscopic redshift robustness criteria for those spectra, validate these criteria using visual inspection, and provide two custom value-added catalogs with our redshift characterizations. With these criteria, we reliably classify 212,935 galaxies below z < 1.6, 9713 quasars, and 35,222 stars. The resulting catalogs achieve a redshift purity exceeding 99.4% across all galaxy samples. As a critical element in characterizing the selection function, we provide the description of 70 different algorithms that were used to select these targets from imaging data. To facilitate joint imaging/spectroscopic analyses, we provide row-matched photometry from the Dark Energy Camera, Hyper-Suprime Cam, and public COSMOS2020 photometric catalogs. Finally, we demonstrate example applications of these large catalogs to photometric redshift estimation, cluster finding, and completeness studies.
