Profile Images and Annotations for Vehicle Re-identification Algorithms (PRIMAVERA)

This dataset contains 636,246 profile images of vehicles representing 13,963 unique vehicles. The data was collected by a set of roadside sensors over the course of three years. Each time a vehicle passed by one of the sensors, a series of images was collected. The images were processed to detect and localize each vehicle, and a license plate reader collocated with the sensor was used to provide a unique ID for the vehicle. Actual license plate numbers have been obfuscated by replacing with an arbitrary numerical ID for each vehicle. After localizing the vehicle in each image, the original RGB image was rotated, scaled, and shifted to produce a new RGB image of size 234x234 pixels such that the outermost two wheels are located at predetermined pixel locations in the image. In this way, all vehicle images are aligned to one another. This registration process occasionally results in a portion of certain vehicles being cutoff at the edges of the image. The dataset has been partitioned into two sets called training and validation. The two partitions no common vehicles, i.e., a vehicle present in one partition is guaranteed not to be present in the other. In this way, an algorithm can be validated against a set of new vehicles that were not seen during the training process. The training set contains 543,926 images from 64,440 vehicle passes representing 11,918 unique vehicles, while the validation set contains 92,320 images from 10,991 vehicle passes representing 2,045 unique vehicles. Vehicle images are organized by directories corresponding to unique vehicles. The file naming scheme is as follows: veh_{vehID}_tr_{passID}_{frameID}_{elevation}_{timeofday}.jpg where {vehID} is the vehicle ID (unique across the entire dataset), {passID} is an identifier for each tracked vehicle pass (unique across the entire dataset), {frameID} is the index of the frame within the given vehicle pass starting at 0, {elevation} is a two-letter string indicating whether the sensor was elevated (el) or at ground-level (gl), and {timeofday} is a two-letter string indicating whether the image was captured during daytime (dt) or nighttime (nt).

2002-2015 Texas Regional Travel Surveys

From 2002-2015, multiple household travel surveys were conducted across Texas in Abilene, Austin, Bryan-College Station, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Houston/Galveston, Laredo, Midland/Odessa, Rio Grande Valley, San Angelo, San Antonio, Texarkana, Tyler/Longview, and Wichita Falls. In coordination with the Texas Transportation Institute, the Texas Department of Transportation conducted the surveys. The travel surveys incorporated a global positioning system technology-based travel diary component.

Sacramento Area Council of Governments's 1991 Household Travel Survey

The Sacramento Area Council of Governments's 1991 Household Travel Survey was conducted in conjunction with the California State Department of Transportation, and provides a detailed survey of travel behavior of 3,942 households in the Sacramento region. The region includes all of Sacramento, Yolo, Yuba, and Sutter counties, as well as the western portions of Placer and El Dorado counties. The purpose of the survey was to obtain up-to-date information on the socioeconomic, demographic, and travel characteristics of the population. During their travel day, participating household members were asked to record travel information in a diary for the specified 24-hour period. The information documented by respondents includes trip activities, mode of transportation, trip times, and trip location. Demographic information includes gender, age, employment status, household income, and household size, as well as whether the respondent held a valid driver's license, whether the respondent was a student, and whether the respondent owned or rented a home.

Porewater data across a catena in the Luquillo Experimental Forest, Puerto Rico.

Landscape topography can influence biogeochemical processes in wet tropical forest soils. This dataset contains porewater concentrations of organic acid (acetate) from 2018 (February 22 to November 14) across a catena in the Luquillo Experimental Forest (LEF), Puerto Rico. The attached CSV file contains information on sampling date, location (El Verde field station) in LEF, topographic positions (ridge, slope, and valley, respectively), depth (unit: cm), and acetate concentration (unit: µM). Porewater concentrations of acetate were lower in the valley as compared to the ridge and slope topographic positions. This dataset can facilitate our understanding of the biogeochemical cycling of carbon and nutrient associated with complex topography in wet tropical forest soils.

Soil chemistry data across a catena in the Luquillo Experimental Forest, Puerto Rico

Landscape topography can influence biogeochemical processes across the wet tropical forest soils. This dataset contains soil chemistry data such as pH and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) from April 1, 2017 to May 1, 2018 across a catena in the Luquillo Experimental Forest, Puerto Rico. The attached CSV file contains information on sampling date, location (El Verde field station) in LEF, topographic positions (ridge, slope, and valley, respectively), field replicate number, laboratory replicate number, water extractable pH, CaCl2 extractable pH, and DOC (unit: mg/g). Overall, soil pH values were highest in the valley, followed by slope, and lowest in the ridge topographic positions. However, DOC values followed the opposite trend: ridge>slope>valley. This dataset can facilitate our understanding of the biogeochemical cycling of carbon and nutrient associated with complex topography in wet tropical forest soils.

Data from: Lowland Tropical Forests Remain a Methane Sink Under Warming and Long-Term Hurricane Disturbance Recovery

The repository folder contains spreadsheets and script for soil greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes, soil moisture, soil temperature, air temperature, and precipitation measurements collected from the Tropical Responses to Altered Climate Experiment (TRACE) at the Sabana Research Field Station, El Yunque National Forest (USDA Forest Service; 18°19′28.74″ N, 65°43′50.09″ W) — an open-air field warming experiment located in a lowland tropical forest in Puerto Rico within the Luquillo Experimental Forest (LEF) — six to seven years after Hurricanes Irma and Maria (2017). All spreadsheets for soil and air microclimate data, as well as soil greenhouse gas data, are included as csv files. Air temperature data are also included as Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx). The script is built in R Studio, which is the only software required to run data analysis. This dataset is associated with the manuscript “Larocca Conte G ; Zuvela L ; Cruz-Pérez R ; Barreto-Vélez T ; Becerra-Santillan N ; Campbell S ; Chu H ; Dam T ; Grullón-Penkova I ; Kleit M ; Ortiz-Iglesias D ; Rubio-Lebrón L ; Cavaleri M ; Reed S ; Sihi D ; Wood T ; O'Connell C., 2026. Lowland Tropical Forests Remain a Methane Sink Under Warming and Long-Term Hurricane Disturbance Recovery. Agricultural and Forest Meteorology. In review". The dataset was used to test the effect of warming on soil CH4 dynamics following long-term legacy effects of hurricane disturbance. The dataset includes: - An overall README file in word and pdf format describing methodology and spreadsheets’ structure. - Continuous measurements of soil temperature and moisture from January 2023 to July 2024 measured with Campbell CS655 probes (“TRACE_soil_temperature_and_moisture_2023_cleaned(in).csv” and “TRACE_soil_temperature_and_moisture_2024_cleaned. csv”). - Air temperature data measured with a HOBO MX23O1A data logger (“Hobo air temperature 2023 Sep 2024” and “Hobo air temperature 2023 Sep 2024” – “CSV FILES folders”). - Precipitation data from a nearby weather tower downloaded from González et al. (2025; “sabana_2020-2025.csv”). - Soil CH4 and CO2 effluxes measured intermittently in two summer campaigns (June – August 2023 and June – July 2024) with a LI-COR 8200-01S Portable Smart Chamber coupled with a LI-COR LI-7810 CH4/ CO2/H2O Trace Gas Analyzer (“23_24COMBO2.0.csv”). - R markdown script for data analysis (“Trace new_PLOTS.Rmd”).
