Draft assemblies for three geographically distinct isolates of the human-infecting microsporidium Encephalitozoon intestinalis

Encephalitozoon intestinalis is an obligate intracellular parasite that causes enteritis, bronchitis, conjunctivitis, and/or encephalitis in immunosuppressed and immunocompetent individuals. To better assess its genetic diversity, here we report near-chromosome-level draft genome assemblies for three geographically distinct isolates, quadrupling the number of genome assemblies available for the enigmatic fungal pathogen.

Complete Genome Sequences of Four Natural Pseudomonas Isolates That Catabolize a Wide Range of Aromatic Compounds Relevant to Lignin Valorization

Many soil microorganisms have evolved catabolic strategies to utilize phenolic compounds arising from depolymerized lignin. We report the complete genome sequences of four Pseudomonas sp. isolates that demonstrated robust growth on a wide range of aromatic monomers and dimers that are relevant to the valorization of lignin into value-added chemicals.

Complete Genome Sequences of Five Isolated Pseudomonas Strains that Catabolize Pentose Sugars and Aromatic Compounds Obtained from Lignocellulosic Biomass

We report on complete genome sequences of five Pseudomonas soil isolates that are capable of metabolizing pentose sugars and aromatic monomers. These complete genome sequence data provide insight into possible alternative hosts for the production of biofuels and bio-based chemicals from lignocellulosic feedstock.

Complete Genome Sequences of Two Thermophilic Indigenous Bacteria Isolated from Wheat Straw, Thermoclostridium stercorarium subsp. Strain RKWS1 and Thermoanaerobacter sp. Strain RKWS2

Reported here are complete genome sequences for two anaerobic, thermophilic bacteria isolated from wheat straw, i.e., the (hemi)cellulolytic Thermoclostridium stercorarium subspecies strain RKWS1 (3,029,933 bp) and the hemicellulolytic Thermoanaerobacter species strain RKWS2 (2,827,640 bp). Discovery of indigenous thermophiles in plant biomass suggests that high-temperature microorganisms are more ubiquitous than previously thought.
