Thermo-Fluid Modeling Framework for Supercomputing Digital Twins: Part 2, Automated Cooling Models

The development of digital twins for the purpose of improving the energy efficiency of supercomputing facilities is a non-trivial endeavor that is complicated by the difficulty of creating physics-based thermo-fluid cooling system models (CSMs). Within ExaDigit---an open-source framework for liquid-cooled supercomputing digital twins---a thermo-fluid modeling framework is being developed. This effort has been segmented into two with two companion papers describing each portion of the overall effort. Part 1 focuses on the development of a cooling system library in Dymola for the Frontier supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory {\cite{Kumar2024}. Part 2, this paper, describes an effort to create a template-based auto-generation methodology for CSMs, called \textit{AutoCSM}. In this paper, an overview of the initial AutoCSM architecture and workflow is provided, along with a practical example using the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility's (OLCF) Frontier supercomputer CSM. AutoCSM will (1) improve ExaDigiT's user accessibility by providing a flexible workflow for modularizing the creation of the CSM system and control logic, (2) decrease the development time of CSMs, and (3) standardize the method for incorporating CSMs into the ExaDigiT framework.

Systems and methods for automated depowdering and transfer of additively manufactured objects

Systems and methods for additive manufacturing of objects are disclosed. The system includes an object builder subsystem configured to additively manufacture an object in a powder bed, an object extraction subsystem configured to extract the object from the powder bed, and a depowdering subsystem configured to remove powder from the object while the object is gripped by the gripper assembly. The object extraction subsystem includes a gripper assembly comprising two or more gripper members that each include a perforated mesh structure.

A Research Testbed for Experimental Connectivity and Automation in Cars

Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are engineered systems in which the computational components and physical components of the system are interdependent and deeply linked. Discovery and development of CPS technologies are changing the way people interact with engineered systems. To demonstrate this point, consider the Global Positioning System (GPS) which revolutionized personal mobility. Its research origins stem from the US Department of Defense in 1973 for military use. By 2000 limitations on civilian consumption of GPS service were lifted. Immediately, personal GPS products were shipped for in-car navigation systems. Soon after, GPS receivers were embedded into mobile phones with the introduction of the Nokia N95 and Apple iPhone for maps and turn-by-turn navigation. With the benefit of hindsight we can see that GPS has become a cornerstone technology of our daily life. Satellite-based navigation has gone from a radical space technology, to a matter of uninteresting availability; it is the typical way that people navigate through roadways now. The combination of the satellite infrastructure, the integration of receiver modules, and powerful maps applications has significantly changed mobility in the 21st century.

Implementing Automation of Foreign Obligations Tracking at SRS

Obligated Nuclear Material Principles • Stay with the originating item if at all practical. • Additional principles apply to bulk processes for pool accounting. • Fungibility: Individual units are indistinguishable therefore equal units are interchangeable. • Equivalence: Material of the same quality and same quantity • Isotopic composition • Physical and chemical form • State: fresh, irradiated, waste • Proportionality: If material is mixed and is processed, a proportion of the resultant material will be obligated in the same proportion as the originating material.
