The oscillating properties of electrostatic transducers according to the sell principle

Amplitude and phase of the vibration of the membrane of an electrostatic Sell-transducer are scanned point-for point with a capacitive probe. From the results a number of mean or extreme values characterizing the behaviour of the membrane are derived. These values two compared with respect to their dependence on air pressure, membrane material , surface properties of the back plate, and excitation voltage; optimal values for various applications are found.
