Handbook of the optical, thermal and mechanical properties of six polycrystalline dielectric materials

The design data for six polycrystalline dielectric materials are presented to describe the optical, thermal, and mechanical properties. The materials are aluminum oxide, calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, magnesium oxide, silicon dioxide, and titanium dioxide. The primary interest is in the polycrystalline state, although single crystal data are included when appropriate. The temperature range is room temperature to melting point. The wavelength range is from near ultraviolet to near infrared.

Telecommunications Systems Design Techniques Handbook

The Deep Space Network (DSN) increasingly supports deep space missions sponsored and managed by organizations without long experience in DSN design and operation. The document is intended as a textbook for those DSN users inexperienced in the design and specification of a DSN-compatible spacecraft telecommunications system. For experienced DSN users, the document provides a reference source of telecommunication information which summarizes knowledge previously available only in a multitude of sources. Extensive references are quoted for those who wish to explore specific areas more deeply.

Planetary mission handbook. Appendix A: Graphical trajectory data

Graphical data is presented for Type 1 ballistic transfers to Jupiter (1974 to 1986), Saturn (1976 to 1986) and Uranus (1985). There are four graphs for each launch opportunity, namely the hyperbolic excess speed at earth departure, the hyperbolic excess speed at planet arrival, the declination of the hyperbolic departure asymptote, and the declination of the hyperbolic approach asymptote.

Planetary missions handbook, first edition

A consistent source of payload performance data for missions to the outer planets is provided. The payload data for both flybys and orbiters is presented graphically as a function of flight time for various launch years, launch vehicles, and orbit sizes. All the relevant parameters have been combined to produce useful data on a single graph to make advanced mission planning much easier. The limitation of this mode of presentation is that only a reasonable number of payload vs. flight time curves can be drawn. Thus it is necessary to select parameters carefully to reflect frequently used values.
