Exploiting Modern C++ for Portable Parallel Programming in Lattice QCD Applications

The evolution of ISO C++ standards increasingly serves the needs of scientific computing, offering potential benefits for developing portable applications. The recent revisions of C++ programming language, for instance, introduces a suite of algorithms capable of being executed on accelerators. Although this approach may not yield best performance, it can present a viable balance between code productivity and computational efficiency. In this report, we discuss the implementation of the HISQ operator utilizing a range of features from the C++17/20/23 standards and include an assessment of their performance.

Space trajectories program for IBM 7090

Space trajectories Program studies the motion of a space probe confined to the solar system and influenced by the nonspherical Earth and Moon, and the point masses defined by the Sun, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter. It is written in the FORTRAN Assembly Program language.

Determination of quadric equation coefficients describing three-dimensional surfaces, their constraint and skewed planes, and view point areas

Mathematical model and a digital computer BLITZ language programming technique computes coefficients of quadric equations describing cylinders, paraboloids, ellipsoids, or planes with any orientation to a reference system, coordinates of a vector, and coefficients of quadric surfaces which limit the surface of three-dimensional space.

Variable dimension automatic synthesis programs (VASP)

Variable dimension FORTRAN 4 version of the Automatic Synthesis Program (ASP) compensates for limitations within the program itself. Improvements are versatile programming language, convenient input/output format, new subprograms, variable dimensioning, and efficient storage.

Automated Engineering Design (AED); An approach to automated documentation

The automated engineering design (AED) is reviewed, consisting of a high level systems programming language, a series of modular precoded subroutines, and a set of powerful software machine tools that effectively automate the production and design of new languages. AED is used primarily for development of problem and user-oriented languages. Software production phases are diagramed, and factors which inhibit effective documentation are evaluated.

Robot computer problem solving system

The conceptual, experimental, and practical phases of developing a robot computer problem solving system are outlined. Robot intelligence, conversion of the programming language SAIL to run under the THNEX monitor, and the use of the network to run several cooperating jobs at different sites are discussed.

A Management Information System Model for Program Management

The development of a model to simulate the information system of a program management type of organization is reported. The model statistically determines the following parameters: type of messages, destinations, delivery durations, type processing, processing durations, communication channels, outgoing messages, and priorites. The total management information system of the program management organization is considered, including formal and informal information flows and both facilities and equipment. The model is written in General Purpose System Simulation 2 computer programming language for use on the Univac 1108, Executive 8 computer. The model is simulated on a daily basis and collects queue and resource utilization statistics for each decision point. The statistics are then used by management to evaluate proposed resource allocations, to evaluate proposed changes to the system, and to identify potential problem areas. The model employs both empirical and theoretical distributions which are adjusted to simulate the information flow being studied.

Research-study of a self-organizing computer

It is shown that a self organizing system has two main components: an organizable physical part, and a programing part. This report presents the organizable part in the form of a programable hardware and its programing language.
