Wideband, high efficiency optical modulator requires less than 10 watts drive power

Wideband optical modulation system operates with less than 10-watts drive power. It consists of an optical modulator and transistorized driver that combines small cross-section potassium dideuterium phosphate crystals with laser beam-condensing optics. Optical modulation systems may serve importantly in future space wideband communication systems.

High-efficiency step-up regulator

Single-ended step-up regulator-chopper power supply /employing conventional chopper circuitry/ combines the advantages of the chopper and switching regulator circuits. Schematic of the power supply incorporating the step-up regulator is shown.

High efficiency telemetry method

Analog and digital mechanizations contain new combinations of known circuits that generate coefficients of Fourier series terms in accordance with harmonic content of waveform to be transmitted. Technique represents information signal more accurately that previous methods and requires fewer information bits.

High efficiency collector for microwave tubes

Depressed collector has basic configuration of a dish with a central cone and protruding spike. This geometry velocity sorts and slows the electrons down to minimum velocity at collection, and prevents backstreaming of secondaries and reflected primaries into interaction region of the tube.
