AutoEMX v1.

The invention consists in the full automation of compositional analysis of inorganic powder samples by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The measurements and analysis are controlled via python-based software, Auto-SEMEDS. Auto-SEMEDS fully automates the SEM-EDS measurements, and analyses the collected data via the use of machine-learning (ML) algorithms, which have never been used before for such scope. Auto-SEMEDS enables the identification in fully-automated fashion of the individual material phases present in a powder sample. Similar technologies, such as commercial SEM-EDS software, can automatically classify particles based on their composition, but they have significant limitations. These solutions typically provide inaccurate composition measurements and struggle to identify single phases in lab samples, where phases are often closely intermixed. In contrast, Auto-SEMEDS achieves unprecedented accuracy in composition measurements of powder samples, and furthermore leverages machine learning algorithms to effectively discern intermixed phases. Notably, while previous studies have demonstrated accurate measurements on individual particles, Auto-SEMEDS stands out by successfully analyzing mixture of different phases, a capability that has not been reported in the literature until now.

BAMBAM (The Behavior and Advanced Mobility Big Access Model) [SWR-25-123]

Access modeling toolkit for Rust built on the RouteE Compass energy-aware route planner. The Behavior and Advanced Mobility Big Access Model (BAMBAM) is a mobility research platform for scalable access modeling. The process begins with a grid defined at some spatial granularity (e.g., census block or 1 km grid) and a variety of travel configurations. For each grid cell and configuration, the platform executes constrained searches, uses the results to index points of interest (POI), and aggregates the findings to the grid level. It provides researchers access through R or Python running on HPC. The platform automates the import and merging of datasets from a variety of sources including data.gov (with automatic merging of Tiger/Lines geometries), OpenStreetMaps, OvertureMaps, and GTFS. It is built upon RouteE Compass, a scalable, energy-aware route planner written in Rust, extended to model multiple travel modes.

Sandia Image Labeling Tool (SILT)

SAND2025-01840O Sandia Image Labeling Tool (SILT) is a Python tool that labels images for machine learning and other applications. SILT uploads JSON files to create a template for labeling an image. SILT can then upload images, including images that are tens of GB large and dynamically loads them in a manner that a user, with a very modest spec laptop, can handle. It then saves the label as a JSON using the template. slewpy

slewpy is a Python package that allows the simulation of the science operations of an astrophysics space satellite mission. slewpy allows users to specify an astronomical target list with observing priorities and a satellite configuration (i.e., orbit and various satellite parameters). Taking these inputs, slewpy can be used to run a time-resolved simulation of an astrophysics mission and outputs simulated target observations given constraints such as satellite slewing rates between targets, observing time on a given target, and Sun-, Earth-, and Moon-limb observing constraints. slewpy provides the tools to test astrophysics space satellite mission designs against observing requirements for a given science case.
