Computer program product for classifying materials

Systems and methods for classifying materials utilizing one or more sensor systems, which may implement a machine learning system in order to identify or classify each of the materials, which may then be sorted into separate groups based on such an identification or classification. The machine learning system may utilize a neural network, and be previously trained to recognize and classify certain types of materials.

System, method, and computer program for creating geometry-compliant lattice structures

A system and method of creating a shape-conforming lattice structure for a part formed via additive manufacturing. The method includes receiving a computer model of the part and generating a finite element mesh. A lattice structure including a number of lattice cellular components may also be generated. Some of the mesh elements of the finite element mesh may be deformed so that the finite element mesh conforms to the overall shape of the part. The lattice structure may then be deformed so that the lattice structure has a cellular periodicity corresponding to the finite elements of the finite element mesh. In this way, the part retains the benefits of its overall shape and the benefits of lattice features without introducing structural weak points, directional stresses, and other structural deficiencies.

Initial Progress on Tank Bottom Repair for the DOE EM Tank Waste R&D Program - 25089

Several years prior to the Lab23-EM001 Call Announcement, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) had done a review in identifying tank repair feasibility. [1, 2] The most viable methods of repair identified for the Floor of a Primary Tank identified were Grout Stabilization and Polymer Grout. Grout Stabilization was described as a self-leveling grout which fills the entire bottom of the tank and creates a new or false bottom. These types of materials have been used at the Savannah River Site (SRS) to fill and close waste tanks as well as contaminated spaces within decommissioned reactors. No mention was made as to the chemical composition of these Stabilizing Grouts in the review, however, grouts used at SRS for the mentioned applications have always been a cementitious grout material. A thickness of approximately 12 inches was suggested in the review. It was also suggested that an additional polymeric coating could be applied to this fresh and clean grout surface.
