A broad search for new high temperature thermoelectric materials is underway at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This paper discusses the properties of two families of compounds that we believe are interesting to investigate in more detail.
Despite their relatively low efficiency, thermoelectric generators are used in a limited number of industrial applications where they are preferred to other energy conversion devices because of their high reliability, low maintenance and long life, in particular when considering harsh environments.

This poster summarizes a recent effort to use advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and advanced cooling designs to increase the gas turbine inlet temperature for small (<10MW) gas turbines typically used in combined heat and power applications.
This presentation discusses the ongoing and upcoming efforts to use combined neutron and ion irradiation experiments for materials qualification within the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies (AMMT) program for the 2024 AMMT program review meeting. The microstructure evolution of additively manufactured 316 L and 316 H stainless steels are discussed, as well as the development of the AMMT challenge problem for this topic.
