QPatLib v1.0 — Measurement-based quantum simulation Pauli string unitary pattern collections

This Zenodo record accompanies the paper “Scalable Measurement-Based Quantum Simulation Patterns for Benchmarking” arXiv.2605.12502 and provides QPatLib v1.0 measurement-pattern datasets in human-readable JSONL together with a ZIP archive of OpenQASM 3.0 circuits used for validation and reproducibility. The patterns and circuits implement Pauli string unitaries for benchmark cases. Cases include all possible string combinations for less than 6 qubits and strings used in Hamiltonians for certain diatomic molecules for 6 or more qubits. Format: Each pattern_*.jsonl file is containins measurement patterns for all subsets for a given model/instance and subset strategy: it begins with a preamble containing model metadata, subset definitions, provenance, and (when feasible) full-pattern test results, followed by one pattern entry per subset. Each subset entry includes a required pattern_ascii field storing the measurement pattern in the measurement-calculus/Graphix standard with signal shifting, written left-to-right in the canonical order nodes → edges → measurements (with signal dependencies) → byproduct corrections (X/Z). The circuits are included as circuit_files.zip. Patterns in this record were validated against the corresponding circuits and checked for causal flow. Codes for generating these patterns can be found at QPatLib repository on Github

A real time, low cost, data acquisition telecommunication network

The real time, low cost data acquisition communication network described features the use of asynchronous ASCII code transmissions operating at 30 characters per second on the dial-up telephone system. The network features an elaborate, but easily generated error checking system, operating in a line-by-line demand-response mode. The system is readily adaptable for any low speed computer-to-computer data transmissions requiring high reliability in data transmission. The network was developed for the acquisition of prelaunch wind data from the Eastern Test Range at Cape Kennedy.

Computer control of a far infrared interferometer

A simple interface has been designed for the automatic control and data collection from a Grubb Parsons Mark III cube interferometer. A computer is used to automatically step the movable mirror on the interferometer. Data may be directly input into the computer for immediate transformation or stored for later analysis via a fast Fourier transformation. The interface is based on a commercial analog-to-digital converter having a parallel-to-serial data converter. The device can also display ASCII characters sent from the computer in parallel binary code. The system is applicable to recording interferograms having long time durations and to measuring multiple interferograms for statistical averaging.

Automation of the Mark 3 field system

The software and hardware components which will enable hands off operation are described. The operation of the field system begins with the scheduling of observations. An interactive program, SKED, provides displays of mutual visibility, automatic calculation of telescope slewing times, and the ability to list and edit the schedule. The output of SKED is a schedule file containing commands in the Standard Notation for Astronomy Procedures (SNAP) language which the field system uses for controlling events during the experiment. The most important features of SNAP include sophisticated time sequencing of events, automatic logging of all commands and responses, and the ability to define often used sequences of commands as procedures. A control program, BOSS, running in an HP 1000 minicomputer, reads the SNAP commands from a schedule file and interprets them in terms of commands and requests to devices. Interactive command input is possible through the operator's display terminal. Communication with all of the Mark 3 electronics modules is done via a small general purpose interface board (a microprocessor based ASCII transceiver) which has been installed in each module. Additional devices are controlled and monitored using the IEEE 488 General Purpose Interface Bus.

Mark 3 VLBI system: Tropospheric calibration subsystems

Tropospheric delay calibrations are implemented in the Mark 3 system with two subsystems. Estimates of the dry component of tropospheric delay are provided by accurate barometric data from a subsystem of surface meteorological sensors (SMS). An estimate of the wet component of tropospheric delay is provided by a water vapor radiometer (WVR). Both subsystems interface directly to the ASCII Transceiver bus of the Mark 3 system and are operated by the control computer. Seven WVR's under construction are designed to operate in proximity to a radio telescope and can be commanded to point along the line-of-sight to a radio source. They should provide a delay estimate that is accurate to the + or - 2 cm level.

Additional extensions to the NASCAP computer code, volume 3

The ION computer code is designed to calculate charge exchange ion densities, electric potentials, plasma temperatures, and current densities external to a neutralized ion engine in R-Z geometry. The present version assumes the beam ion current and density to be known and specified, and the neutralizing electrons to originate from a hot-wire ring surrounding the beam orifice. The plasma is treated as being resistive, with an electron relaxation time comparable to the plasma frequency. Together with the thermal and electrical boundary conditions described below and other straightforward engine parameters, these assumptions suffice to determine the required quantities. The ION code, written in ASCII FORTRAN for UNIVAC 1100 series computers, is designed to be run interactively, although it can also be run in batch mode. The input is free-format, and the output is mainly graphical, using the machine-independent graphics developed for the NASCAP code. The executive routine calls the code's major subroutines in user-specified order, and the code allows great latitude for restart and parameter change.

The Remote Analysis Station (RAS) as an instructional system

"Hands-on" training in LANDSAT data analysis techniques can be obtained using a desk-top, interactive remote analysis station (RAS) which consists of a color CRT imagery display, with alphanumeric overwrite and keyboard, as well as a cursor controller and modem. This portable station can communicate via modem and dial-up telephone with a host computer at 1200 baud or it can be hardwired to a host computer at 9600 baud. A Z80 microcomputer controls the display refresh memory and remote station processing. LANDSAT data is displayed as three-band false-color imagery, one-band color-sliced imagery, or color-coded processed imagery. Although the display memory routinely operates at 256 x 256 picture elements, a display resolution of 128 x 128 can be selected to fill the display faster. In the false color mode the computer packs the data into one 8-bit character. When the host is not sending pictorial information the characters sent are in ordinary ASCII code. System capabilities are described.

Doppler lidar signal and turbulence study

Comparison of the second moments of the Doppler lidar signal with aircraft and tower measured parameters is being carried out. Lidar binary data tapes were successfully converted to ASCII Code on the VAX 11/780. These data were used to develop the computer programs for analyzing data from the Marshall Space Flight Center field test. Raw lidar amplitude along the first 50 forward and backward beams of Run No. 2, respectively was plotted. Plotting techniques for the same beams except with the amplitude thresholded and range corrected were developed. Plotting routines for the corresponding lidar width of the first 50 forward and backward beams were also established. The relationship between raw lidar amplitude and lidar width was examined. The lidar width is roughly constant for lidar amplitudes less than 120 dB. A field test with the NASA/MSFC ground based Doppler lidar, the instrumented NASA B-57B gust gradient aircraft, and the NASA/MSFC eight tower array was carried out. The data tape for the lidar was received and read. The aircraft data and tower data are being digitized and converted to engineering units. Velocities computed sequentially along each of the lidar beams beginning at 16:40:00, May 12, 1983 were plotted for Run No. 1.

Asynchronous file transfer to IBM PC's

The Asynchronous File Transfer System is used for interactively selecting and tramsmitting text files from the Langley Research Center's Business Data Systems Division (BDSD) host processor to an IBM Personal Computer. The IBM asynchronous communications support package is used for handling the communications on the personal computer. An application program (NATURAL, COBOL, etc.) is used for selecting and formatting the records to be transmitted, and three subroutine modules residing on the BDSD host processor are used for interfacing the application program and the communications software. Each record transmitted to the Personal Computer must be in the standard ASCII format. This record format is directly accessible by BASIC and many of the personal computer software packages provide utility programs for converting them to the format required for the particular package in question.

Codes with Parity Conditions on Subsets of Coordinates

Binary codes with the constraint that the codes restricted to certain subsets of columns must be contained in particular codes of the shorter lengths are considered. In particular, codes of even length 2k, and of minimum distance approximately greater than d, where in the code obtained by restricting to the first k positions has even weight and at the same time the code obtained by restricting to the last k positions also has even weight are considered. If k = 2n, n odd, and d = 2n, it is proved that the code has at most 8n - 4 codewords, and 8n - 4 is attainable for n = 3. This permits a file-transfer protocol control function assignment for personal computers to be chosen for 20 control functions using essentially just pairs of upper-case alphabetic ASCII characters where the Hamming distance between the binary forms of every two different control functions is at least six.

Archival of Seasat-A satellite scatterometer data merged with in situ data at selected, illuminated sites over the ocean

A large data base of Seasat-A Satellite Scatterometer (SASS) measurements merged with high-quality surface-truth wind, wave, and temperature data has been documented. The data base was developed for all times when selected in situ measurement sites were within the SASS footprint. Data were obtained from 42 sites located in the coastal waters of North America, Australia, Western Europe, and Japan and were assembled by correlating the SASS and surface-truth measurements in both time and distance. These data have been archived on a set of nine-track 6250 bpi ASCII coded magnetic tapes, which are available from the National Technical Information Service.

GTOSS: Generalized Tethered Object Simulation System

GTOSS represents a tether analysis complex which is described by addressing its family of modules. TOSS is a portable software subsystem specifically designed to be introduced into the environment of any existing vehicle dynamics simulation to add the capability of simulating multiple interacting objects (via multiple tethers). These objects may interact with each other as well as with the vehicle into whose environment TOSS is introduced. GTOSS is a stand alone tethered system analysis program, representing an example of TOSS having been married to a host simulation. RTOSS is the Results Data Base (RDB) subsystem designed to archive TOSS simulation results for future display processing. DTOSS is a display post processors designed to utilize the RDB. DTOSS extracts data from the RDB for multi-page printed time history displays. CTOSS is similar to DTOSS, but is designed to create ASCII plot files. The same time history data formats provided for DTOSS (for printing) are available via CTOSS for plotting. How these and other modules interact with each other is discussed.
