Systems and methods for classifying materials utilizing one or more sensor systems, which may implement a machine learning system in order to identify or classify each of the materials, which may then be sorted into separate groups based on such an identification or classification. The machine learning system may utilize a neural network, and be previously trained to recognize and classify certain types of materials.
A system and method of creating a shape-conforming lattice structure for a part formed via additive manufacturing. The method includes receiving a computer model of the part and generating a finite element mesh. A lattice structure including a number of lattice cellular components may also be generated. Some of the mesh elements of the finite element mesh may be deformed so that the finite element mesh conforms to the overall shape of the part. The lattice structure may then be deformed so that the lattice structure has a cellular periodicity corresponding to the finite elements of the finite element mesh. In this way, the part retains the benefits of its overall shape and the benefits of lattice features without introducing structural weak points, directional stresses, and other structural deficiencies.
Several years prior to the Lab23-EM001 Call Announcement, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) had done a review in identifying tank repair feasibility. [1, 2] The most viable methods of repair identified for the Floor of a Primary Tank identified were Grout Stabilization and Polymer Grout. Grout Stabilization was described as a self-leveling grout which fills the entire bottom of the tank and creates a new or false bottom. These types of materials have been used at the Savannah River Site (SRS) to fill and close waste tanks as well as contaminated spaces within decommissioned reactors. No mention was made as to the chemical composition of these Stabilizing Grouts in the review, however, grouts used at SRS for the mentioned applications have always been a cementitious grout material. A thickness of approximately 12 inches was suggested in the review. It was also suggested that an additional polymeric coating could be applied to this fresh and clean grout surface.

The DUNE near detector LAr-TPC can be moved to different off-axis positions to sample different neutrino fluxes, which in turn will yield different cross section distributions for observables. Several DUNE ND off axis locations were simulated using GENIE and ACHILLES, and generator differences and FSI contributions were examined for various observables. Additionally, the predictions were compared with those of existing experiments, and it is shown that the DUNE ND 20m off axis predictions are similar to that of MicroBooNE for various observables. Finally, the 2p2h interaction mode was simulated for ACHILLES for the first time for ICARUS, and a preliminary comparison is made to MicroBooNE data and simulations from different event generators.
