Holistic digital gamma-ray spectroscopy methods and instrumentation for high-throughput high-resolution applications

Method of real-time adaptive digital pulse signal processing for high count rate gamma-ray spectroscopy applications includes receiving a preamplifier signal at a pulse deconvolver, the preamplifier signal including resolution deterioration resulting from pulse pile-up. The method further includes generating a deconvoluted signal, by the pulse deconvolver, from the preamplifier signal, the deconvoluted signal having less resolution deterioration as compared to the received preamplifier signal. The method furthermore includes shaping of the deconvoluted signal by a trapezoid filter, the shaping comprising adjusting a shaping parameter of the trapezoid filter for an incoming signal based on a time separation from a subsequent incoming signal.

Automated Data Acquisition Software for National Instruments Hardware with Timed Acquisition, Real-Time Display and Spectrogram, and Data Redundancy. Current version is Version 7 of DataAcq.exe.RElease1.2.4.26.

This software automates the collection of waveform data on a timed schedule so that an operator does not need to be at the computer to initiate the collection of data sets.It provides real time display of up to 16 channels of data as a time display, frequency display, or frequency vs time (spectrogram) display. The software provides the ability to collect data sets of a user selected time length at a selected interval. This operation can be set to occur during a selected time interval during the day. This software provides the capability to write two copies of the data files simultaneously so that the data is backed up as collected. Techno-Economic Models are Instrumental in Analyzing Decarbonization Strategies

This presentations provides a high-level overview of the NETL-developed techno-economic models associated with the CO2 transport and CO2 storage components of the carbon capture and storage (CCS)/carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) value chain. It also discusses the models’ capabilities through the discussion of select modeling applications (both internal and external) and highlights current model modifications and future work. It was presented at the CCUS 2023 conference, organized and presented by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and held in Houston, Texas, April 25-27, 2023.

Single detector laser-induced fluorescence imager and raman spectral instrument

Apparatus include divergence optics removably coupled to receive a probe beam in a first imaging mode to cause the probe beam to diverge before impinging on a first area of a target surface, and to not receive the probe beam in a second imaging mode to cause the probe beam to impinge on a second area of the target surface smaller than the first area, collection optics configured to receive, in response to the probe beam, luminescence light emitted from the first area and spectral light emitted from the second area, and an optical detector coupled to the collection optics, wherein the optical detector includes a luminescence imaging detector portion and a spectral imaging detector portion adjacent to the luminescence imaging detector portion, wherein the luminescence imaging detector portion is configured to receive the luminescence light emitted from the first area and the spectral imaging detector portion is configured to receive the spectral light from the second area.
