An intelligent user interface for browsing satellite data catalogs

A large scale domain-independent spatial data management expert system that serves as a front-end to databases containing spatial data is described. This system is unique for two reasons. First, it uses spatial search techniques to generate a list of all the primary keys that fall within a user's spatial constraints prior to invoking the database management system, thus substantially decreasing the amount of time required to answer a user's query. Second, a domain-independent query expert system uses a domain-specific rule base to preprocess the user's English query, effectively mapping a broad class of queries into a smaller subset that can be handled by a commercial natural language processing system. The methods used by the spatial search module and the query expert system are explained, and the system architecture for the spatial data management expert system is described. The system is applied to data from the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) satellite, and results are given.

Data catalog of satellite experiments

This catalog is divided into three sections: data description contains descriptions of data available at or through NSSDC as well as descriptions of the experiments and spacecraft from which the data originated; and supporting data contains brief descriptions of space environment models and programs distributed by NSSDC. Section 3 is a series of indexes that contain: (1) a listing of all spacecraft, experiment, and data descriptions presented in Section 1 plus tables indicating the period for which each spacecraft was operational; (2) an index of all spacecraft described here, identified by common names and alternate names; (3) a listing of the original experiment institutions for all experiments described; (4) a listing of the investigators associated with the experiments and their current affiliations; and (5) an index of all experiments sorted by phenomenon measured.

Data catalog of satellite experiments

The availability of space science data, a description of the data, and a description of the services supplied by the National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) is presented. A series of cumulative indexes that reference the data descriptions contain: (1) a chronological listing of all spacecraft, experiments, and data descriptions; (2) an index of all spacecraft described, identified by common names and alternate names; (3) a listing of the original experiment institutions for experiments described; (4) a listing of the investigators associated with the experiments and their current affiliations; and (5) two displays of information about experiment data coverage for fields and particle data and a listing of all experiments sorted by phenomenon measured.

HPDF Data Catalog and Lakehouse Demo Heuristic Evaluation and Roadshow Feedback Reports

The December 2025 roadshow gathered rapid feedback from community members on the proof of concept AmSC/HPDF data lakehouse and catalog solution 1. This provided the opportunity to demonstrate our current state of progress and gather input on workflows and AI agents. We recognize that the proofs of concept interfaces (OpenMetadata and Goose) are not intended for our end users so we have captured feedback to keep in mind as additional technical and conceptual design work is undertaken.

Tiltrotor Test Rig Wind-Tunnel Test Data Catalog

The Tiltrotor Test Rig (TTR) is a large-scale proprotor test system for the National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex (NFAC). The first wind-tunnel entry was completed in November 2018 with a modern, 26-ft diameter proprotor. The rotor tested was the Bell Model 699, an AW609 rotor modified specifically for wind-tunnel testing. The primary purpose was to complete the development of the TTR, including systems integration with the NFAC. Testing included axial flow up to 273 knots, conversion mode from 30 to 100 deg nacelle angle, and hover/vertical climb conditions. Additional testing included aerodynamic tares, motor tests, thermal tests, modal vibration tests, and other checkout activities. This report lists the test conditions achieved and the types of data acquired and saved in the database.

Skylab earth resources data catalog

An index of EREP photographs is provided along with information on how EREP data can be obtained. Suggestions are presented for possible utilization of the data in the following areas: land resource management; water resources; marine resources; landform surveys, geologic mapping, and mineral resources; agriculture, forest, and range resources; and environmental applications. It is intended to stimulate potential users to apply the data to their respective fields of interest.
