Draft Genome Sequence of Methanohalophilus mahii Strain DAL1 Reconstructed from a Hydraulic Fracturing-Produced Water Metagenome

ABSTRACT We report here the 1,882,100-bp draft genome sequence of Methanohalophilus mahii strain DAL1, recovered from Marcellus Shale hydraulic fracturing-produced water using metagenomic contig binning. Genome annotation revealed several key methanogenesis genes and provides valuable information on archaeal activity associated with hydraulic fracturing-produced water environments.

Draft Nuclear Genome Sequence of the Halophilic and Beta-Carotene-Accumulating Green Alga Dunaliella salina Strain CCAP19/18

The halotolerant alga Dunaliella salina is a model for stress tolerance and is used commercially for production of beta-carotene (=pro-vitamin A). The presented draft genome of the genuine strain CCAP19/18 will allow investigations into metabolic processes involved in regulation of stress responses, including carotenogenesis and adaptations to life in high-salinity environments.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Oleaginous Yeast Cryptococcus curvatus ATCC 20509

ABSTRACT Cryptococcus curvatus ATCC 20509 is a commonly used nonmodel oleaginous yeast capable of converting a variety of carbon sources into fatty acids. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of this popular organism to provide a means for more in-depth studies of its fatty acid production potential.

Draft Genome Sequence of Coniochaeta ligniaria NRRL 30616, a Lignocellulolytic Fungus for Bioabatement of Inhibitors in Plant Biomass Hydrolysates

Here, we report the first draft genome sequence (42.38 Mb containing 13,657 genes) of Coniochaeta ligniaria NRRL 30616, an ascomycete with biotechnological relevance in the bioenergy field given its high potential for bioabatement of toxic furanic compounds in plant biomass hydrolysates and its capacity to degrade lignocellulosic material.

Revised Draft Genome Sequences of Rhodomicrobium vannielii ATCC 17100 and Rhodomicrobium udaipurense JA643

ABSTRACT Recent attempts to sequence regions of the Rhodomicrobium vannielii ATCC 17100 genome revealed discrepancies with the previously published genome. We report the revised draft genome sequences of the type strains Rhodomicrobium vannielii ATCC 17100 and Rhodomicrobium udaipurense JA643. These revisions will facilitate genetic studies of phototrophic metabolism in these bacteria.

Draft Genome Sequence of Pedococcus sp. Strain 5OH_020, Isolated from California Grassland Soil

The draft genome sequence of the soil bacterium Pedococcus sp. strain 5OH_020, isolated on a natural cobalamin analog, comprises 4.4 Mbp, with 4,108 protein-coding genes. Its genome encodes cobalamin-dependent enzymes, including methionine synthase and class II ribonucleotide reductase. Taxonomic analysis suggests that it is a novel species within the genus Pedococcus .
