Digital-computer program for design analysis of salient, wound pole alternators

A digital computer program for analyzing the electromagnetic design of salient, wound pole alternators is presented. The program, which is written in FORTRAN 4, calculates the open-circuit saturation curve, the field-current requirements at rated voltage for various loads and losses, efficiency, reactances, time constants, and weights. The methods used to calculate some of these items are presented or appropriate references are cited. Instructions for using the program and typical program input and output for an alternator design are given, and an alphabetical list of most FORTRAN symbols and the complete program listing with flow charts are included.

A Study of Digital Computers for A Real Time Training Stimulation Research System

In the study phase of the project to provide a general purpose laboratory facility for use in research in training simulation techniques, digital computer systems and interface equipments were evaluated for the application. Criteria for the system evaluation were obtained from previous studies, involving the F100A aircraft and EROS vehicle flight simulations using the UDOFT computer facility.

A note on the generation of phase plane plots on a digital computer

A technique is presented for generating phase plane plots on a digital computer which circumvents the difficulties associated with more traditional methods of numerical solving nonlinear differential equations. In particular, the nonlinear differential equation of operation is formulated.
