This presentation deck provides an overview of community solar for a new user. The presentation covers community solar structures, considerations for low- and moderate-income (LMI) customers, policies related to community solar design, and a community solar market overview.
This workshop will provide participants with background and hands-on experience to use basic containers for HPC applications. We will discuss what containers are, why they matter for HPC, and how they work. We’ll give an overview of Charliecloud, the unprivileged container solution from HPC Division, and walk participants through installing it on their own compute resource. Participants will build toy containers and a real HPC application, and then run them in parallel on an HPC Division cluster. This will be a highly interactive workshop with lots of Q&A.
This document presents a summary and framework of available transport data and other information directly relevant to the development of the groundwater transport model for Central and Western Pahute Mesa (PM) corrective action units (CAU). This model is referred to as the “PM CAU transport model” in this document. Central and Western PM are two areas of the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) that historically were used for underground nuclear testing. These nuclear tests resulted in groundwater contamination in the vicinity of the underground test areas. As a result, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Management (EM) Nevada Program is currently conducting a corrective action investigation (CAI) of the PM underground test areas. This work is a part of the Underground Test Area (UGTA) Activity in accordance with the Federal Facility Agreement and Consent Order (FFACO) (1996, as amended).
Electric vehicle (EV) adoption has increased significantly over the past several years. More than 640,000 light-duty plug-in EVs were sold in the US in 2021, which was more than twice the number sold in 2020. Driven by existing state and federal financial incentives as well as increased choice in electric models, EVs are popular among car buyers and now account for more than 1-in-10 of all light- duty vehicles sold in the US. At the state-level, total California EV sales recently passed one million, while New York, Washington, and Florida each have more than 100,000 total EVs on the road.
Hydrogen is emerging across the world as a potential low-carbon energy carrier that can provide an alternative to fossil fuels. With the increasing deployment of renewable energy, the role of low-carbon power generation in hydrogen production through electrolysis is expected to increase. Hydrogen can also play a role in reducing carbon emissions in several strategic sectors such as chemicals, iron, steel, and long-haul transport like heavy-duty trucks and shipping. As a result of these possibilities, many countries have included hydrogen as a central part of their energy strategies. This growing interest has led to many questions among various stakeholders, including policymakers, planners, regulators, system operators, utilities, and investors. This fact sheet provides answers to some of the most frequently asked questions related to hydrogen production, transportation, storage, cross-sectoral utilization, and its role in power sector decarbonization.
The purpose of this course is to inform the learner of changes and additions to LANL's Lockout/Tagout procedure.
Overview of the history, current deployment, Applications, and potential benefits and trade-offs for agrivoltaics. Presented to a public audience in south Asia as part of a three-part webinar series through SAREP.
Through the Communities Local Energy Action Program (LEAP), NREL is providing technical assistance to a coalition of stakeholders from Oakridge, Oregon. The coalition includes community-based non-profit organizations, the city government, the local utility, and others. Technical assistance provides analysis and information to support Oakridge stakeholders with their goals to increase energy reliability and resilience in the community, while promoting economic development. The Grid Resilience and Microgrids Learning Session was presented to the Oakridge coalition to provide foundational technical knowledge that can support decision-making about energy-related issues in the community.
This presentation serves as an introduction to energy resources and converstion technologies presenting information on petroleum, natural gas, nuclear, solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal energy.
For states interested in working with Tribal Nations on energy projects, it is important to understand Tribal sovereignty and what this means for a collaborative relationship. This presentation will explain how Tribal sovereignty was established, what that means for energy sovereignty, and how states can use this understanding to better engage with Tribal Nations.
