Electron storage ring power supply system design report

In January 2020, U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette announced the decision to build an Electron Ion Collider (EIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). While advancing the state of the art of particle colliders, the EIC will enable the U.S. nuclear physics community, with world wide participation, to take a giant step forward in the centuries-old quest to understand the nature of matter at its most fundamental level, providing the clearest picture yet of how the elemental quarks and gluons interact to form the basic structure of atoms and nuclei. The EIC at Brookhaven National Laboratory will be the first particle accelerator capable of colliding polarized ions with polarized electrons.

Novel PV Array System Design to Accelerate Solar Deployment, Reduce LCOE, Reduce Land Use Competition, and Increase Siting Flexibility

The increasing demand for solar energy faces significant barriers, including inefficient construction processes, high project costs limiting LCOE reductions, and diminishing availability of "good" sites with favorable interconnection. Conventional solar installations are often constrained by long construction timelines and the need for flat, large plots. Furthermore, the industry struggles with a shortage of skilled labor. Planted Solar aims to address these challenges by fundamentally transforming solar deployment from a construction project into a streamlined manufacturing process. Our novel approach combines high-density racking, integrated terrain-following design software, and installation automation. Unlike competing solutions that either assist with standard array assembly or offer dense packing without terrain adaptability or automation, Planted's technology uniquely brings together a new array product with in-place automated manufacturing to achieve the lowest possible cost, greater site flexibility, and accelerated deployment.

Industry Assessment and Initial Adaptive Protection System Design

This report presents the success merits, logic design details, and test plans for adaptive protection schemes for microgrids, secondary distribution networks, and radial distribution feeders. Success merits are presented in terms of challenges and issues which should be mitigated. The challenges and issues were identified during site-specific simulations and analysis presented in a prior report. The adaptive protection logic designs are presented in a vendor-neutral manner to make them readily adaptable to site--specific protection relays and controllers which support custom logic design. Vendor-specific implementations of the logic for the adaptive protection laboratory tests are also presented. The final section of the report presents details of the testing methodology, plans, and documentation for each of the three adaptive protection schemes.
