Attempts to develope high temperature superconductor (HTS) microelectronics have been limited by the immature nature of HTS circuit technology.
The data is reviewed about superconductor-normal-superconductor (SNS) devices, and the conclusion is drawn that there is no conventional proximity effect in the majority of reported high Tc devices. The present experimental and theoretical understanding of SNS junctions is discussed as well as implications for future research.
In this paper, we review the state of the art of Nb circuit fabrication and discuss the requirements for significantly improving circuit density and speed.

The progress made towards forming thin organic layers on superconductors and how these layers effect the transition temperature is discussed. The work was primarily directed towards 1) synthesis of the organics, 2) deposition of organics, and 3) setting up to make transition temperature measurements. The greatest effort was placed on synthesis, and most of the synthesis procedures are now perfected.
