Results of tests OA12 and IA9 in the Ames Research Center unitary plan wind tunnels on an 0.030-scale model of the space shuttle vehicle 2A to determine aerodynamic loads, volume 18
Tests were conducted, during April and May 1973, on an 0.030-scale replica of the Space Shuttle Vehicle Configuration 2A. Aerodynamic loads data were obtained at Mach numbers from 0.6 to 3.5. The investigation included tests on the integrated (launch) configuration, and on the isolated orbiter (entry configuration). The integrated vehicle was tested at angles of attack and sideslip from -8 degrees to +8 degrees. The isolated orbiter was tested at angles of attack from -15 degrees to +40 degrees and angles of sideslip from -10 degrees to +10 degrees as dictated by trajectory considerations. The effect of orbiter/external tank incidence angle and deflected control surfaces on aerodynamic loads were also investigated.
Results of investigations (OA20C) on an 0.015-scale configuration 140A/B space shuttle vehicle orbiter model (49-0) in the NASA/Langley Research Center Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel
Data obtained from the wind tunnel tests of a scale model of the space shuttle orbiter configuration 140 A/B are presented. The test was conducted at Mach numbers of 2.5, 3.9, and 4.6 with Reynolds numbers from 1.25 million per foot to 5.0 million per foot. Various control surface settings were used ranging from an angle of attack range from minus 4 to plus 42 degrees at zero angle of yaw. Longitudinal stability and control characteristics of the space shuttle configuration were analyzed.
Airloads investigation of an 0.030-scale model of the space shuttle vehicle 140A/B launch configuration (model 47-OTS) in the arc 11-foot unitary plan wind tunnel for Mach range 0.6 to 1.4 (IA14A), volume 1
The results of the tests are presented along with aerodynamic loads data obtained at Mach numbers from 0.6 to 1.4. Surface pressure distributions were obtained simultaneously with six-component stability and control force data on the complete launch configuration. The configuration consisted of the orbiter, an external tank, two solid rocket boosters, and associated intercomponent attach hardware. Angles of attack and sideslip from -10 deg to +10 deg were investigated. The tests were conducted from 4 September 1973 through 13 September 1973.
Airloads investigation of an 0.030 scale model of the space shuttle vehicle 140A/B launch configuration (model 47-OTS) in the ARC 9 by 7 foot unitary plan wind tunnel for Mach 1.55 and 2.2 (iA14B), volume 1
Tests were conducted in September, 1973 on a launch vehicle configuration consisting of a space shuttle orbiter, an external tank, two solid rocket boosters, and associated intercomponent attach hardware. Model variables included elevon, rudder, and speed brake deflections. Aerodynamic loads were measured and surface pressure distributions were obtained simultaneously with six-component stability and control force data on the complete configuration. Angles of attack and sideslip were also investigated.

Results of aerothermodynamic heating tests on a 0.013-scale model solid rocket booster in the NASA/LaRC unitary plan wind tunnel (SH12F)
A 0.013 scale model of the solid rocket booster (SRB) used to launch the space shuttle was tested at a Mach number of 3.7 and Reynolds numbers of 1,500,000 and 3,500,000 per foot. The objective of the test was to obtain aerodynamic heat transfer data on the surface of scaled models of the SRB at simulated full scale reentry flight conditions. Three separate models were utilized to measure film coefficients over an angle of attack range from 0 deg to 180 deg at 0 deg sideslip. All three models were representations of the MCR0200 baseline configuration and varied only by the way they were mounted in the tunnel. Model A, sting mounted thru the model base, was utilized for testing between 0 deg and 40 deg angle of attack. Model B was blade mounted from the top of the model and was tested between 60 deg and 120 deg angle of attack. Model C was sting mounted thru the model nose and utilized for testing between 140 deg and 180 deg angle of attack.
