Atomic Origin of the Autocatalytic Reduction of Monoclinic CuO in a Hydrogen Atmosphere

Reducibility is key for the use of bulk metal oxides in chemical transformation involving redox reactions but probing microscopic processes of oxide reduction is challenging. This is because the insulating nature of bulk oxides restricts ion and electron spectroscopic measurements of oxide surfaces. Herein, using a combination of environmental transmission electron microscopy and atomistic modeling, we report direct in-situ atomic-scale observations of the surface and subsurface dynamics and show that the hydrogen induced CuO reduction occurs via the surface decay of Cu-O/Cu bilayer atomic steps, formation of partially reduced CuO superstructure by the self-ordering of O vacancies in the subsurface, and collapse of Cu-O layers in the bulk. In this work, all these substeps can be traced back to the progressively increased concentration and activity of O vacancies in the surface and subsurface of the oxide, thereby leading to the self-accelerated oxide reduction. These results demonstrate the microscopic details that may have broader applicability in modulating various redox processes.

Mesocrystal growth through oriented sliding and attachment of nanoplates

Oriented attachment is a critical, yet poorly understood, crystal growth pathway based on the self-assembly of nanocrystals. During oriented attachment, solvent-separated particles align and coalesce through forces that enable precise rotation and translation. While prior studies emphasized intragap forces driving crystallographic alignment, the forces enabling uniform stacking and superlattice formation remain unclear. Here, we demonstrate how macroscopic gibbsite mesocrystals emerge from nanoplates guided into staggered positions by directional sliding. Electron microscopy and X-ray scattering reveal the monoclinic superlattice structure, based on nanoplate stacking with a uniform ≈50° stagger along the gibbsite [010] direction. In situ liquid-cell TEM captures preferential sliding along the gibbsite [010] direction, decelerating with increasing particle overlap. Molecular dynamics simulations reveal that this staggered arrangement corresponds to a global free-energy minimum, rather than full alignment. The simulations also confirm that sliding along the [010] direction is energetically favored and provide insight into the role of interfacial water in achieving long-range ordered assemblies. These insights highlight the energy landscape’s role in oriented attachment, with implications for material synthesis and hierarchical structures in nature.

High-Resolution Full-Field Structural Microscopy of the Voltage-Induced Filament Formation in VO 2 -Based Neuromorphic Devices

In order to make neuromorphic functions in memristive devices more efficient, information about the structural properties of filament formation at the micro- and mesoscopic scales is necessary. Despite extensive research on VO 2 , a key material due to its filament formation, local operando structural measurements remain challenging and often involve destructive specimen preparation and long rastering times, greatly limiting the scope of experimental studies. Utilizing dark-field X-ray microscopy (DFXM), a fullfield imaging modality, structural signatures of the filament formation process operando are revealed in VO 2 devices. DFXM experiments illustrate that rutile filaments contain isolated monoclinic clusters, indicating structural nonuniformity interior to the filament. The formation of the rutile phase beneath device electrodes was shown to precede filament development, followed by the formation of filament paths guided by nucleation sites within the device. Finally, a medium-term (<30 min) memory mechanism is observed in VO 2 , mediated by sites within the device gap that tend to switch at significantly lower voltages after electrical cycling, a tendency that persists through a brief thermal reset. High spatial resolution, large field-of-view, structure selectivity, and fast signal acquisition of DFXM provided insight into structural features of the filamentary channel and surrounding regions during voltage cycling.

In-plane multi-q magnetic ground state of Na 3 Co 2 SbO 6

We report Na 3 Co 2 SbO 6 is a potential Kitaev magnet with a monoclinic layered crystal structure. Recent investigations of the C3-symmetric sister compound Na 2 Co 2 TeO 6 have uncovered a unique triple-q magnetic ground state, as opposed to a single-q (zigzag) one, prompting us to examine the influence of the reduced structural symmetry of Na 3 Co 2 SbO 6 on its ground state. Neutron diffraction data obtained on a twin-free crystal reveal that the ground state remains a multi-q state, despite the system's strong non-C 3 -symmetric anisotropy. This robustness of multi-q orders suggests that they are driven by a common mechanism in the honeycomb cobaltates, such as interactions beyond the bilinear order. Spin-polarized neutron diffraction results show that the ordered moments are entirely in plane, with each staggered component orthogonal to the propagating wave vector. The inferred ground state appears more compatible with the so-called XXZ easy-plane anisotropy than the Kitaev anisotropy, and features unequal ordered moments reduced by strong quantum fluctuations.

Steering the Methane Dry Reforming Reactivity of Ni/La 2 O 3 Catalysts by Controlled In Situ Decomposition of Doped La 2 NiO 4 Precursor Structures

The influence of A- and/or B-site doping of Ruddlesden-Popper perovskite materials on the crystal structure, stability, and dry reforming of methane (DRM) reactivity of specific A 2 BO 4 phases (A = La, Ba; B = Cu, Ni) has been evaluated by a combination of catalytic experiments, in situ X-ray diffraction, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and aberration-corrected electron microscopy. At room temperature, B-site doping of La 2 NiO 4 with Cu stabilizes the orthorhombic structure ( Fmmm ) of the perovskite, while A-site doping with Ba yields a tetragonal space group ( I 4/ mmm ). We observed the orthorhombic-to-tetragonal transformation above 170 °C for La 2 Ni 0.9 Cu 0.1 O 4 and La 2 Ni 0.8 Cu 0.2 O 4 , slightly higher than for undoped La 2 NiO 4 . Loss of oxygen in interstitial sites of the tetragonal structure causes further structure transformations for all samples before decomposition in the temperature range of 400 °C-600 °C. Controlled in situ decomposition of the parent or A/B-site doped perovskite structures in a DRM mixture (CH 4 :CO 2 = 1:1) in all cases yields an active phase consisting of exsolved nanocrystalline metallic Ni particles in contact with hexagonal La 2 O 3 and a mixture of (oxy)carbonate phases (hexagonal and monoclinic La 2 O 2 CO 3 , BaCO 3 ). Differences in the catalytic activity evolve because of (i) the in situ formation of Ni-Cu alloy phases (in a composition of >7:1 = Ni:Cu) for La 2 Ni 0.9 Cu 0.1 O 4 , La 2 Ni 0.8 Cu 0.2 O 4 , and La 1.8 Ba 0.2 Ni 0.9 Cu 0.1 O 4 , (ii) the resulting Ni particle size and amount of exsolved Ni, and (iii) the inherently different reactivity of the present (oxy)carbonate species. Based on the onset temperature of catalytic DRM activity, the latter decreases in the order of La 2 Ni 0.9 Cu 0.1 O 4 ~ La 2 Ni 0.8 Cu 0.2 O 4 ≥ La 1.8 Ba 0.2 Ni 0.9 Cu 0.1 O 4 > La 2 NiO 4 > La 1.8 Ba 0.2 NiO 4 . Simple A-site doped La 1.8 Ba 0.2 NiO 4 is essentially DRM inactive. The Ni particle size can be efficiently influenced by introducing Ba into the A site of the respective Ruddlesden-Popper structures, allowing us to control the Ni particle size between 10 nm and 30 nm both for simple B-site and A-site doped structures. Hence, it is possible to steer both the extent of the metal-oxide-(oxy)carbonate interface and its chemical composition and reactivity. Counteracting the limitation of the larger Ni particle size, the activity can, however, be improved by additional Cu-doping on the B-site, enhancing the carbon reactivity. Exemplified for the La 2 NiO 4 based systems, we show how the delicate antagonistic balance of doping with Cu (rendering the La 2 NiO 4 structure less stable and suppressing coking by efficiently removing surface carbon) and Ba (rendering the La 2 NiO 4 structure more stable and forming unreactive surface or interfacial carbonates) can be used to tailor prospective DRM-active catalysts.

Epitaxial (Al x Ga 1-x-y In y ) 2 O 3 Alloys Lattice Matched to Monoclinic Ga 2 O 3 Substrates

We have epitaxially stabilized a series of monoclinic (Al x Ga 1-x-y In y ) 2 O 3 alloys by careful choice of molecular beam epitaxy growth conditions, which balance alloy growth with suboxide desorption. The films are pseudomorphic to (010) β-Ga 2 O 3 substrates at thicknesses up to 150 nm with compositions ranging from (Al 0.01 Ga 0.83 In 0.16 ) 2 O 3 to (Al 0.24 Ga 0.75 In 0.03 ) 2 O 3 . The absorption edge shifts from approximately 4.62-5.14 eV with coincidently increasing Al and decreasing In mole fractions. J-V measurements reveal an increase in resistivity over four orders of magnitude with a maximum value of 4.2 x 10 5 Ω-cm for (Al 0.17 Ga 0.76 In 0.07 ) 2 O 3 , which has nearly identical lattice parameters (both in-plane and out-of-plane) to the underlying β-Ga 2 O 3 . Scanning transmission electron microscopy of this sample reveals a mostly uniform and single crystalline film, though we identify areas of non-uniform In incorporation and some γ-phase inclusions. This work demonstrates the feasibility of thick layers lattice-matched to β-Ga 2 O 3 with increased bandgap compared to phase-separation limited (Al,Ga) 2 O 3 . These alloys can enable higher bandgap epitaxial dielectrics and high sheet charge density transistors by increasing the conduction band offset with respect to β-Ga 2 O 3 .

Crystal Growth, Optical and Scintillation Properties of Eu 2+ -doped TlSr 2 Br 5

Crystals of undoped and Eu 2+ -doped TlSr 2 Br 5 of up to 16 mm in diameter and 50 mm in length were grown by the Vertical Bridgman technique. TlSr 2 Br 5 has the monoclinic crystal structure with space group P21/c. Its density and Z eff are 5.03 g/cm 3 and 58.6, respectively. Radioluminescence spectra of undoped and Eu 2+ -doped TlSr 2 Br 5 feature a broad emission band peaking at about 440 nm for undoped and 520 nm for Eu 2+ -doped crystals. The light yield of undoped TlSr 2 Br 5 is 42,000 ph/MeV, which increases to 55,000 ph/MeV for Eu 2+ -doped crystals. The energy resolution at 662 keV ( 137 Cs) is about 5 – 6% (FWHM). As a result, the scintillation decay of undoped and Eu 2+ -doped TlSr 2 Br 5 is of the order of 100s of nanoseconds.

Materials design of sodium chloride solid electrolytes Na3MCl6 for all-solid-state sodium-ion batteries

All-solid-state sodium-ion batteries have attracted increasing attention owing to the low cost of sodium and the enhanced safety compared to conventional Li-ion batteries. Recently, halides have been considered as promising solid electrolytes (SEs) due to their favorable combination of high ionic conductivity and chemical stability against high-voltage cathode materials. Although a wide variety of lithium chloride SEs, Li 3 MCl 6 , have been developed for high-voltage all-solid-state batteries, only a limited number of sodium chloride SEs have been reported. This study aims to offer a material design insight for the development of sodium chloride SEs through systematic assessment of the phase stability, electrochemical stability, and transport properties of novel Na 3 MCl 6 SEs. Structural calculations indicate that Na 3 MCl 6 exhibits trigonal $P\bar{3}$1c, monoclinic P2 1 /n, and trigonal $R\bar{3}$ phases, and the stable phase of Na 3 MCl 6 is dependent on the type and ionic radius of M. Na 3 MCl 6 typically exhibits a high oxidation potential, demonstrating good electrochemical stability against cathodes. The bond-valence site energy and ab initio molecular dynamics calculations revealed that Na 3 MCl 6 with P2 1 /n and $R\bar{3}$ phases showed low ionic conductivity, while the $P\bar{3}$1c phase slightly improved the ionic conductivity of Na 3 MCl 6 . The formation of Na vacancies by aliovalent substitution considerably increased the ionic conductivity up to four orders of magnitude for pristine Na 3 MCl 6 , exhibiting ~10 –5 S cm –1 for trigonal $P\bar{3}$1c and $R\bar{3}$ phases. The formation of defects could further enhance the ionic conductivity of Na 3 MCl 6 , and the optimization of defect type and ratio can be helpful in developing superionic Na chloride SEs. The material design of Na 3 MCl 6 in this study will provide fundamental guidelines for the development of novel sodium halide SEs for all-solid-state sodium-ion batteries.

GdWN 3 is a nitride perovskite

Nitride perovskites ABN3 are an emerging and highly underexplored class of materials that are of interest due to their intriguing calculated ferroelectric, optoelectronic, and other functional properties. Incorporating novel A-site cations is one strategy to tune and expand such properties; for example, Gd 3+ is compelling due to its large magnetic moment, potentially leading to multiferroic behavior. However, the theoretically predicted ground state of GdWN 3 was a non-perovskite monoclinic structure. Here, we experimentally show that GdWN 3-y crystallizes in a perovskite structure. High-throughput combinatorial sputtering with activated nitrogen is employed to synthesize thin films of Gd 2-x W x N 3-y O y with oxygen content y < 0.05. Ex situ annealing crystallizes a polycrystalline perovskite phase in a narrow composition window near x = 1. LeBail fits of synchrotron grazing incidence wide angle x-ray scattering data are consistent with a perovskite ground-state structure. Refined density functional theory calculations that included antiferromagnetic configurations confirm that the ground-state structure of GdWN 3 is a distorted Pnma perovskite with antiferromagnetic ordering, in contrast to prior predictions. Initial property measurements find that GdWN 3-y is paramagnetic down to T = 2 K with antiferromagnetic correlations and that the absorption onset depends on cation stoichiometry. This work provides an important path toward both the rapid expansion of the emerging family of nitride perovskites and understanding their potential multiferroic properties.

Anomalous Ferromagnetic Behavior in Orthorhombic Li 3 Co 2 SbO 6

Monoclinic Li 3 Co 2 SbO 6 has been proposed as a Kitaev spin liquid candidate and investigated intensively, whereas the properties of its polymorph, the orthorhombic phase, are less known. In this work, we report the magnetic properties of orthorhombic Li 3 Co 2 SbO 6 as revealed by dc and ac magnetic susceptibility, muon spin relaxation (μSR), and neutron diffraction measurements. Successive magnetic transitions at 115, 89, and 71 K were observed in the low-field dc susceptibility measurements. The transitions below T N (115 K) are suppressed at higher applied fields. However, zero-field ac susceptibility measurements reveal distinct frequency-independent transitions at about 114, 107, 97, 79, and 71 K. A long-range magnetic ordered state was confirmed by specific heat, μSR, and neutron diffraction measurements, all indicating a single transition at about 115 K. The discrepancy between different measurements is attributed to possible stacking faults and/or local disorders of the ferromagnetic zigzag chains, resulting in ferromagnetic boundaries within the overall antiferromagnetic matrix.

CrI 3 revisited with a many-body ab initio theoretical approach

CrI 3 has recently been shown to exhibit low-dimensional, long-range magnetic ordering from few layers to single layers of CrI 3 . The properties of CrI 3 bulk and few layered systems are uniquely defined by a combination of short-range intralayer and long-range interlayer interactions; including strong correlations, exchange and spin orbit coupling. Unfortunately, both the long-range van der Waals interactions, which are driven by dynamic, many-body electronic correlations and the competing strong intralayer correlations, present a formidable challenging for the local or semi local mean-field approximations employed in workhorse electronic structure approaches like density functional theory. In this work, we employ a sophisticated many-body approach that can simultaneously describe long- and short-range correlations. Herein, we establish that the fixed-node diffusion Monte Carlo (FNDMC) method reproduces the experimental interlayer separation distance of bulk CrI 3 for the high-temperature, monoclinic phase, with a reliable prediction of the interlayer binding energy. We subsequently employed, the FNDMC results to benchmark the accuracy of several density functional theory exchange-correlation approximations.

Advancing Heteroanionicity in Zintl Phases: Crystal Structures, Thermoelectric and Magnetic Properties of Two Quaternary Semiconducting Arsenide Oxides, Eu 8 Zn 2 As 6 O and Eu 14 Zn 5 As 12 O

Two novel quaternary oxyarsenides, Eu 8 Zn 2 As 6 O and Eu 14 Zn 5 As 12 O, were synthesized through metal flux reactions, and their crystal structures were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Eu 8 Zn 2 As 6 O crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca, featuring polyanionic ribbons composed of corner-shared triangular [ZnAs 3 ] units, running along the [100] direction. The structure of Eu 14 Zn 5 As 12 O crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2/m and its anionic substructure can be described as an infinite “ribbonlike” chain comprised of [ZnAs 3 ] trigonal-planar units, although the structural complexity here is greater and also amplified by disorder on multiple crystallographic positions. In both structures, the O 2– anion occupies an octahedral void with six neighboring Eu 2+ cations. Formal electron counting, electronic structure calculations, and transport properties reveal the charge-balanced semiconducting nature of these heteroanionic Zintl phases. High-temperature thermoelectric transport properties measurements on Eu 14 Zn 5 As 12 O reveal relatively high resistivity (ρ 500K = 8 Ω·cm) and Seebeck coefficient values (S 500K = 220 μV K –1 ), along with a low concentration and mobility of holes as the dominant charge-carriers (n 500K = 8.0 × 10 17 cm –3 , μ 500K = 6.4 cm 2 /V s). Magnetic studies indicate the presence of divalent Eu 2+ species in Eu 14 Zn 5 As 12 O and complex magnetic ordering, with two transitions observed at T 1 = 21.6 K and T 2 = 9 K.

Magnetoelastic distortion of multiferroic BiFeO 3 in the canted antiferromagnetic state

Using THz spectroscopy, here we show that the spin-wave spectrum of multiferroic BiFeO 3 in its high-field canted antiferromagnetic state is well described by a spin model that violates rhombohedral symmetry. We demonstrate that the monoclinic distortion of the canted antiferromagnetic state is induced by the single-ion magnetoelastic coupling between the lattice and the two nearly antiparallel spins. The revised spin model for BiFeO 3 contains two new single-ion anisotropy terms that violate rhombohedral symmetry and depend on the direction of the magnetic field.

Electronic structure and lattice dynamics of 1⁢𝑇−VSe 2 : Origin of the three-dimensional charge density wave

To characterize in detail the charge density wave (CDW) transition of 1⁢𝑇−VSe 2 , its electronic structure and lattice dynamics are comprehensively studied by means of x-ray diffraction, muon spectroscopy, angle resolved photoemission (ARPES), diffuse and inelastic x-ray scattering, and state-of-the-art first-principles density functional theory calculations. Resonant elastic x-ray scattering does not show any resonant enhancement at either V or Se, indicating that the CDW peak at the 𝐾 edges describes a purely structural modulation of the electronic ordering. ARPES experiments identify (i) a pseudogap at 𝑇 > 𝑇⁢ CDW , which leads to a depletion of the density of states in the ML-M'L' plane at 𝑇 < 𝑇⁢ CDW , and (ii) anomalies in the electronic dispersion reflecting a sizable impact of phonons on it. A diffuse scattering precursor, characteristic of soft phonons, is observed at room temperature (RT) and leads to the full collapse of the low-energy phonon (𝜔 1 ) with propagation vector (0.25 0 −0.3) r.l.u. Here, we show that the frequency and linewidth of this mode are anisotropic in momentum space, reflecting the momentum dependence of the electron-phonon interaction (EPI), hence demonstrating that the origin of the CDW is, to a much larger extent, due to the momentum dependent EPI with a small contribution from nesting. The pressure dependence of the 𝜔 1 soft mode remains nearly constant up to 13 GPa at RT, with only a modest softening before the transition to the high-pressure monoclinic C2/m phase. The wide set of experimental data is well captured by our state-of-the art first-principles anharmonic calculations with the inclusion of van der Waals corrections in the exchange-correlation functional. The comprehensive description of the electronic and dynamical properties of VSe 2 reported here adds important pieces of information to the understanding of the electronic modulations in the family of transition-metal dichalcogenides.

Local lattice distortions and electronic phases in perovskite manganite Pr 0.5 Sr 0.5 MnO 3

We use variable temperature and magnetic field total x-ray scattering to study the crystal structure of the strongly correlated Pr 0.5 Sr 0.5 MnO 3 perovskite, which is a paramagnetic insulator at room temperature, becomes a ferromagnetic metal at 272 K and, upon further decreasing the temperature, turns into an antiferromagnetic insulator at 105 K. We find that a model featuring a monoclinic symmetry captures the structure and its temperature and field evolution well, eliminating the need to evoke a phase segregation scenario as done in prior studies. It appears that coupled variations in Mn–oxygen bonding distances and angles from their values in an undistorted perovskite lattice, i.e., coupled local lattice distortions, assist the phase transitions in Pr 0.5 Sr 0.5 MnO 3 , contributing to its unique physical properties. Local structural distortions thus emerge as an important degree of freedom in strongly correlated systems, in particular perovskite manganates, and, therefore, they should be fully accounted for when their fascinating physics is considered.

Interplay of Crystal Structure and Magnetic Properties of the Eu 5.08-x Sr x Al 3 Sb 6 Solid Solution

Zintl phases containing rare-earth metals have gained attention due to their magnetic, electronic, and thermoelectric properties. Eu 5.08 Al 3 Sb 6 is a new structure type (monoclinic space group C2/m) that can be described as a pseudorock-salt EuSb motif with the Eu-centered Sb octahedra at the origin of the unit cell, and on the C-face center, containing either Eu (8%) or an Al 4 tetrahedron modeled as a dual tetrahedron (37.5%). The complete solid solution of Eu 5.08–x Sr x Al 3 Sb 6 can be prepared; however, the cation totals vacillate from 5 to 5.24 depending on the Al content. Al K-edge XANES shows a shift to higher energy relative to the Al metal but at slightly lower energy relative to AlSb, indicating an intermediate oxidation state closer to +3 than 0. The lack of an Al K-edge shift with the incorporation of Sr suggests that changes in Sr content do not have a meaningful impact on the electronics of the Al tetrahedra. Investigation of the solid solution structures provides evidence for classifying this structure type as a polar intermetallic phase with variable composition. Magnetization measurements were collected for the solid solution and show complex magnetic ordering with competing ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions as the Sr content increases.

Structural, magnetic, optical, dielectric and electronic properties of R 2 NiIrO 6 (R = Pr and Nd): A comprehensive experimental and theoretical investigation

Double perovskites are highly promising materials capable of exhibiting a wide variety of phenomena. In this work, we perform a comprehensive experimental and theoretical study of polycrystalline R 2 NiIrO 6 (R = Pr and Nd) compounds. Both compounds were synthesised using the solid-state reaction method. Rietveld refinement confirmed a monoclinic structure with the P2 1 /n space group for both compounds. The scanning electron images showed the average grain sizes of 0.55 μm for R = Pr and 0.46 μm for R = Nd. Fourier transform infrared ra- diation spectra of the two compounds presented two intense bands at 470 cm -1 and 540 cm -1 . The optical measurements revealed that the band gaps of the compounds were in the visible absorption range. The field- cooled magnetisation - field hysteresis measurements indicated exchange bias properties in the synthesised compounds at low temperatures. Both temperature and frequency variation of dielectric constant and loss tangent measurements were conducted. The frequency-dependent ac conductivity measurements indicated that the conductivity increases with the increase of frequency as well as temperature. The Nd 2 NiIrO 6 compound showed lower ac conductivities compared to its isostructural Pr 2 NiIrO 6 compound. The atomic and electronic structures of Nd 2 NiIrO 6 and Pr 2 NiIrO 6 were explored using the spin-polarised calculations performed within the DFT+U method. Our results suggested that the inclusion of on-site correlations and repulsions for the d-states of atoms was necessary in order to obtain finite band gaps of Nd 2 NiIrO 6 and Pr 2 NiIrO 6 systems.

Structural and double magnetic transitions in the frustrated spin- 1 2 capped-kagome antiferromagnet ( RbCl ) Cu 5 P 2 O 10

The structural and magnetic properties of the geometrically frustrated spin- 1 2 capped-kagome antiferromagnet (RbCl) Cu 5 P 2 O 10 are investigated via temperature-dependent x-ray diffraction, magnetization, heat capacity, and 31 P NMR experiments on a polycrystalline sample. It undergoes a structural transition at around T t ≃ 310 K from a high-temperature trigonal (P ¯3m1) to a low-temperature monoclinic (C2/c) unit cell, where the low-temperature structure features the capped-kagome geometry of Cu 2+ ions. Interestingly, it shows the onset of two successive magnetic transitions at T N1 ≃ 20 K and T N2 ≃ 7 K. The shape of the 31 P NMR spectra unfolds the possible nature of the transitions below T N1 and T N2 to be of incommensurate and commensurate antiferromagnetic type, respectively. A large value of the Curie-Weiss temperature as compared to T N1 sets the frustration parameter f ≃ 8, ensuring strong magnetic frustration in the compound. From the 31 P NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate, the leading antiferromagnetic exchange coupling is estimated to be J/k B ≃ 117 K. Furthermore, these unusual double magnetic transitions make this compound beguiling for further investigations.
