Dataset for First Full Dalitz Plot Measurement in Neutron β-Decay using the Nab Spectrometer and Implications for New Physics

The Nab apparatus at the Fundamental Neutron Physics Beamline at the Spallation Neutron Source was designed to measure key observations in neutron beta decay, test the Standard Model's description of the weak interaction, and search for new physics. This data was collected using the Nab apparatus and are presented in the article "First Full Dalitz Plot Measurement in Neutron β-Decay using the Nab Spectrometer and Implications for New Physics." This data publication includes CSV (comma-separated values) files which are used to generate Figures 3 - 11 in the linked journal article.

High resolution characterization of soil dissolved organic matter with FTICR-MS (Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry) from soil samples in control and warming plots in Blodgett Forest, CA (2014 and 2018)

The pathways of carbon transport and loss through and from soils—soil organic matter (SOM) depolymerization to dissolved organic carbon and mineralization to carbon dioxide (CO2)—are fundamentally driven by microbial activity, which is strongly regulated by environmental conditions. As part of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) Terrestrial Ecosystem Science (TES) Belowground Biogeochemistry Science Focus Area (SFA), we have established a novel whole-soil long-term warming experiment at the University of California (UC) Blodgett Forest Research Station (Sierra Nevada) in 2014, where we study the role of biogeochemical, microbial and geochemical process interactions in SOM decomposition and stabilization. This package contains Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (21 Tesla FTICR-MS) data measured in negative and positive ionization mode from water and methanol soil extracts. Soil samples were collected in 2014/06/03 and 2018/06/04 from 3 replicated paired plots that had been subjected to experimental warming since June 2014 to simulate a predicted climate change scenario for northern California. The following files are included: (1) fticr_neg_h2oMeoh_data_raw.csv: raw data from combined water (H2O) and methanol (MeOH) extracts in negative ion mode, (2) fticr_neg_h2oMeoh_data_processed.csv: processed data from combined water (H2O) and methanol (MeOH) extracts in negative ion mode, (3) fticr_neg_metadata.csv: metadata for samples/measurements in negative ion mode, (4) fticr_pos_h2oMeoh_data_raw.csv: raw data from combined water (H2O) and methanol (MeOH) extracts in positive ion mode, (5) fticr_pos_h2oMeoh_data_processed.csv: processed data from combined water (H2O) and methanol (MeOH) extracts in positive ion mode, (6) fticr_pos_metadata.csv: metadata for samples/measurements in positive ion mode.

Site A and Plot M 2023 Surveillance Report and 2024 Inspection Report

This report is prepared for the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Legacy Management (DOE-LM) by the Worker Safety & Environment (WSE) Division at Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne). Beginning in 2024, Argonne drafted a combined report containing the annual inspection results for the current year and the annual surveillance data/discussion from the previous year. The annual inspection results will be contained within an appendix at the end of the surveillance report. The results of the environmental monitoring program at Site A and Plot M and an assessment of the impact of the site on the environment and the public are presented in this publication as well as findings and assigned corrective actions as a result of the Site A/Plot M annual inspection. Funding to support this program was provided by DOE-LM.

Site A and Plot M 2024 Surveillance Report and 2025 Inspection Report

The results of the environmental surveillance program conducted at Site A/Plot M for calendar year (CY) 2024 are presented within this document. Site A/Plot M is in the Palos Area Preserves managed by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. The surveillance program consists of the collection and analysis of surface and groundwater samples to determine the amount of hydrogen-3 and strontium-90 present in the environment within and surrounding the site of the former research facility (Site A) and waste burial site (Plot M).

Inputs, Outputs and Plotting Scripts for paper Extending near-axis equilibria in DESC

Python scripts and outputs from the DESC and pyQSC/pyQIC codes used to create the results in the paper "Extending near-axis equilibria in DESC". The contained README file has the details of which scripts create which figures, as well as on what versions of the codes were used. The repo also contains python pickle (.p) files and .txt files with the data used to create each figure (which are used by the plotting scripts).

Analytical drafting curves provide exact equations for plotted data

Analytical drafting curves provide explicit mathematical expressions for any numerical data that appears in the form of graphical plots. The curves each have a reference coordinate axis system indicated on the curve as well as the mathematical equation from which the curve was generated.

Computer program calculates and plots surface area and pore size distribution data

Computer program calculates surface area and pore size distribution of powders, metals, ceramics, and catalysts, and prints and plots the desired data directly. Surface area calculations are based on the gas adsorption technique of Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller, and pore size distribution calculations are based on the gas adsorption technique of Pierce.

Automated plotting of equipotentials

By substitution of resistance paper for normal plotting paper, an x-y plotter can be used to draw automatically the equipotential lines between components represented in planar form on the paper. This technique is used for high voltage electronic components of complex configuration for the prediction of stress in the intervening insulation.
