lllinois Storage Corridor CarbonSAFE Phase III: Pre-drilling Site Assessment: Prairie State Generating Company

The Illinois Storage Corridor project will drill a stratigraphic test well as part of the Illinois Storage Corridor CarbonSAFE Phase 3 project near the Prairie State Generating Company coal-fired power plant near Marissa, Illinois. The pre-drilling site evaluation has considered the primary target reservoirs, the Potosi Dolomite and St. Peter Sandstone, and primary seal, the Maquoketa Group. Data to be collected from the well include core, fluid samples, in situ well tests, geophysical logs intended to provide information on lithologic, geomechanical, and geophysical characteristics to determine the feasibility for the geologic sequestration of 50 million metric tons or more of injected carbon dioxide. The planned drilling site has been evaluated using available subsurface geologic data and analyses from the Illinois Basin. These data provide lithologic and structural information, shallow groundwater resource distribution, location of known nearby wellbores, and regional drilling characteristics. The data were used to generate geologic structure and isopach maps for the target reservoir and caprock strata and for prognosing the tops of major lithologic units to aid drilling and coring procedures. The regional analyses indicate that no known structural features are expected to negatively impact the target storage reservoir or caprock. No protected and sensitive areas, groundwater resources, or existing resource development are expected to be impacted by the proposed well drilling activities. The well is planned to be drilled to a total depth of approximately 5,600 feet (1,707 m) and terminate in the Precambrian. Cores (up to 5 intervals) will be collected from the Maquoketa Group, confining units above the St. Peter Sandstone, St. Peter Sandstone, confining units of the Potosi Dolomite and the Potosi Dolomite. Water samples will be attempted to be collected from the St. Peter Sandstone and Potosi Dolomite. Potential impact on drilling progress is a lost circulation zone in the Potosi Dolomite, which has been demonstrated to have intermittent cavernous porosity from karstification elsewhere in the Illinois Basin. This document also presents a preliminary coring and sampling program, proposed logging suite, and well testing program, all of which will be reviewed during drilling.

TEAMER: Twin Ocean Power Wave Energy Converter Comprehensive Overview

These files collectively provide a comprehensive overview of the testing process, data analysis, and validation for the Twin Ocean Power device tested at the O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory, supported by TEAMER funding. This resource includes an overview of power results for a series of 7 trials. The files included in this comprehensive overview include a comprehensive log sheet for each trial, a summary of all trials, and processing scripts for the raw data. It includes all raw data in .tsv and MATLAB compatible formats, an average power chart, angular velocity charts for each trial, trial metrics, and power output files. This resource includes images of the Twin Ocean Power Wave Energy Converter device components and movement during testing and video recordings of each trial.

Convergence of Emerging Technologies - EAGL Test Information

The Emergency Automatic Gunshot Detection and Lockdown (EAGL) system provides automatic, autonomous, and timely gunshot detection in both indoor and outdoor environments. This system uses both wired and wireless devices. Self-contained wireless EAGL sensors passively “listen” for gunshot events. These devices also perform a single, daily supervisory heartbeat (HB) function to include a device self-check with reporting capability. Transmissions are received by an assigned EAGL Gateway, which translates the RF sensor data to a PoE network format solely for use by the EAGL system server. The server then performs additional processes after data receipt, which include but are not limited to: event validation and logging, GUI presentation, notifications, and other independent operations.

Prairie State Generating Company Static and Dynamic Modeling

A reservoir modeling study was conducted to assess the feasibility of storing 162.5 million tonnes (8.125 million tonnes annually) of industrially sourced carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in the St. Peter – Everton and Knox storage complexes at the Prairie State Generating Company’s (PSGC) site near Marissa, Washington County, Illinois (PSGC site). Two separate models were constructed for the St. Peter – Everton and the Knox storage complexes. The St. Peter and Everton sandstones are the target storage units for the St. Peter – Everton storage complex. The Knox Group formations are the target storage units for the Knox storage complex. The Maquoketa Shale is the primary confining unit for both storage complexes. The static reservoir models used as input to the dynamic reservoir models of the storage complexes were developed from interpretations of logs (e.g., gamma ray, resistivity, porosity, photoelectric, and sonic), structure surfaces using data from 36 wells, thickness maps, well test data, seismic data, and permeability data in PetrelTM.

Dwarf galaxy halo masses from spectroscopic and photometric lensing in DESI and DES

We present the most precise and lowest-mass weak lensing measurements of dwarf galaxies to date, enabled by spectroscopic lenses from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) and photometric lenses from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) calibrated with DESI redshifts. Using DESI spectroscopy from the first data release, we construct clean samples of galaxies with median stellar masses $\log_{10}(M_*/M_{\odot})=8.3-10.1$ and measure their weak lensing signals with sources from DES, KiDS, and SDSS, achieving detections with $S/N$ up to 14 for dwarf galaxies ($\log_{10}(M_*/M_{\odot})<$9.25) -- opening up a new regime for lensing measurements of low-mass systems. Leveraging DES photometry calibrated with DESI, we extend to a photometric dwarf sample of over 700,000 galaxies, enabling robust lensing detections of dwarf galaxies with combined $S/N=38$ and a significant measurement down to $\log_{10}(M_*/M_{\odot})=8.0$. We show that the one-halo regime (scales $\lesssim 0.15h^{-1}\rm Mpc$) is insensitive to various systematic and sample selection effects, providing robust halo mass estimates, while the signal in the two-halo regime depends on galaxy color and environment. These results demonstrate that DESI already enables precise dwarf lensing measurements, and that calibrated photometric samples extend this capability. Together, they pave the way for novel constraints on dwarf galaxy formation and dark matter physics with upcoming surveys like the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's LSST.

2000 Southeast Florida Regional Travel Characteristics

The Southeast Florida Regional Travel Characteristics Study (Travel 2000) provided the needed observed travel information for developing planning tools for a three-county region of Southeast Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach). Data collection efforts began in December 1998 and were completed in September 1999. Travel logs were collected for 5,168 households, which included all travel by all residents for one day. In addition, approximately 10,000 bus riders were surveyed, and visitors were surveyed at 79 hotels. Trucking information was gathered from 848 commercial establishments using trucks. Workers were surveyed at seven major employment areas in the three counties.

2017 National Household Travel Survey - Arizona Add-On

# 2017 National Household Travel Survey – Arizona Add-On The Arizona add-on survey supplements the 2017 National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) with additional household samples and detailed travel behavior for an assigned travel day. ## Data Collection Agency The Federal Highway Administration conducted the NHTS and corresponding add-on surveys. ## Methodology This survey documents the demographic, attitudinal, and travel behavior for all members of 2,987 households, as collected from April 2016 to April 2017. Daily travel details provide insight into work and school commutes, non-emergency medical trips, shopping trips, and even how travel differs in the summer and on weekends as compared to a typical weekday when school is in session. # 2017 National Household Travel Survey – Arizona Add-On The Arizona add-on survey supplements the 2017 National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) with additional household samples and detailed travel behavior for an assigned travel day. ## Data Collection Agency The Federal Highway Administration conducted the NHTS and corresponding add-on surveys. ## Methodology This survey documents the demographic, attitudinal, and travel behavior for all members of 2,987 households, as collected from April 2016 to April 2017. Daily travel details provide insight into work and school commutes, non-emergency medical trips, shopping trips, and even how travel differs in the summer and on weekends as compared to a typical weekday when school is in session.
