Article with buffer layer

An article, for example a solar cell, includes a first substrate having a first surface and a second surface. An underlayer is located over the second surface. A first conductive layer is located over the underlayer. An overlayer is located over the first conductive layer. A semiconductor layer is located over the conductive oxide layer. A second conductive layer is located over the semiconductor layer. The first conductive layer can include a conductive oxide and at least one dopant selected from the group consisting of tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, and/or fluorine. The overlayer can include a buffer layer having tin oxide and at least one of zinc, indium, gallium, and magnesium.

Buffered freepointer management memory system

A system and method of buffered freepointer management to handle burst traffic to fixed size structures in an external memory system. A circular queue stores implicitly linked free memory locations, along with an explicitly linked list in memory. The queue is updated at the head with newly released locations, and new locations from memory are added at the tail. When a freed location in the queue is reused, external memory need not be updated. When the queue is full, the system attempts to release some of the freepointers such as by dropping them if they are already linked, updating the linked list in memory only if those dropped are not already linked. Latency can be further reduced by loading new locations from memory when the queue is nearly empty, rather than waiting for empty condition, and by writing unlinked locations to memory when the queue is nearly full.

System with buffer for lateral flow on a porous membrane

Systems are described, based on a primary binding compound and a secondary binding compound used in combination with a support to detect a target in a sample. The systems includes at least one support structure, at least one small primary support portion containing at least one molecule covalently bound to a visual colloidal marker, a plurality of secondary support portions comprising secondary binding compounds that are covalently bound to the support portions and chemically active, at least one pH litmus indicator, at least one pH strip, a buffer for lateral flow on the porous membrane support that allows preservation and activity of binding compounds.

Register-Like Storage Block Used as Histograms, Cluster Buffers, and Hough Transform Accumulators for HEP Trigger Systems

In high energy physics experiment trigger systems, block memories are utilized for various purposes, especially in binned searching algorithms. In these algorithms, the storages are demanded to perform like a large set of registers. The writing and reading operation must be performed in single clock cycle and once an event is processed, the memory must be globally reset. These demands can be fulfilled with registers but the cost of using registers for large memory is unaffordable. Another common requirement is the boundary coverage feature during reading process. Additionally, when a memory bin is addressed, the stored contents in the addressed bin and its neighboring bin must be output simultaneously. In this paper, a register-like block storage design scheme is described, which allows updating memory locations in single clock cycle, reading two adjacent bins, and effectively refreshing entire memory within a single clock. The implementation and test results are presented.

Synergistic extraction of rare earth elements, actinium, americium, and barium with TTA and Pb resin from acetate buffer solutions

The uptake behavior of 88 Y, 140 Ba, 140 La, 141 Ce, 152 Eu, 228 Ac, and 241 Am was studied with batch uptake, kinetics and column studies in a synergistic extraction system with Pb resin and 2-thenoyltrifuoroacetone in acetate-ethanol solutions. The k' values are very high (>10,000) at near neutral pH (~5 to 6) for all of the radioisotopes studied. The kinetics are reasonably fast for column separations, though the uptake rate is dependent on the concentration of 2-thenoyltrifuoroacetone. Column studies were performed to demonstrate the separation of the trivalent actinides and lanthanides from barium and common fssion products ( 99 Mo, 103 Ru).
