Primordial black holes from first-order phase transition in the singlet-extended SM

Supercooled first-order phase transition (FOPT) can lead to the formation of primordial black holes (PBHs). This scenario imposes stringent requirements on the profile of the effective potential. In this work, we use the singlet extended Standard Model (xSM) as a benchmark model to investigate this possibility at the electroweak scale. The PBHs formed during a supercooled FOPT have a narrow mass distribution around the mass of Earth. This distribution is closely tied to the temperature at which the PBHs form, corresponding to the FOPT at the electroweak scale. This scenario can be probed with microlensing experiments, space-based gravitational wave detectors, and collider experiments. Remarkably, the future space-based gravitational wave detector LISA will hold the potential to either confirm this scenario that leads to PBH formation across the observable Universe in the xSM or completely rule it out. Interestingly, our findings suggest that PBHs within the xSM framework may align with observations of the six ultrashort timescale events reported by the OGLE microlensing experiment. Green's function fast multipole method for continuum mechanics (SM-FMM)

Solid Mechanics Fast Multipole Method based on elastic Green's function and accelerated using FFTs The code calculates the mechanical fields (stress and strain) for a heterogeneous elasto-plastic material unit cell under quasi-static conditions (no dynamic effects). The fields are calculated using a Green's function method, where the strain field is given by a discrete convolution of Green's operator with an auxiliary stress field. The convolution is calculated using the fast multipole method.

147 Sm Neutron Capture Cross Section and Resonances

Measurement of ( n,γ ) cross sections measurements are of high importance to many fields such as radiochemical diagnostics, technical nuclear forensics, nuclear physics and astrophysics, nuclear criticality safety, advanced reactors, and isotope production. For these applications an accurate characterization of the resonances in the resolved resonance region is important. In the energy range of the resonance region neutron capture, and scattering are possible so the total resonance width Γ is the sum of the gamma and neutron widths Γ = Γ γ +Γ n .

CSM programs SM RCS propellant quantity gaging systems program

Computer program calculates actual and useable remaining propellant quantities as required in positive expulsion rocket engine propellant feed system. Program establishes relationship between helium system pressures and temperatures and propellant weight remaining in tanks. Program is written in FORTRAN 4 for IBM-360 computer.

Modeling the evolution of Sm and Eu abundances during lunar igneous differentiation

The current work presents models for the evolution of europium and samarium abundances during lunar igneous processes. The effect of probable variations in lunar temperature and oxygen fugacity, mineral-liquid distribution coefficients, and the crystallization or melting progression are considered in the model calculations. Changes in the proportions of crystallizing phases strongly influence the evolution of trace element abundances during fractional crystallization, and models must include realistic estimates of the major phase equilibria during crystallization. The results are applied to evaluating the possibility of generating KREEP-rich materials by lunar igneous processes.
