Firestone Walker Brewing Company (FWBC), Paso Robles, California, owns a 1-million-barrel (BBL) brewery that requires up to 5 MW of process heat in form of saturated steam. Firestone Walker Brewery has set a goal of reducing carbon emissions by 50% for our 1 million BBL brewery.
This is a presentation discussing some of the recent activities of the Sandia Access Delay department
This manuscript contributes a Viewpoint article to ACS Sustainable Resource Management and discusses the graphite supply chain, growing mismatch between graphite demand and global manufacturing capacity, current graphite manufacturing technologies, and different feedstocks.
This CRADA between UT-Battelle, LLC (Contractor) and re:3D Inc. (Participant) aims to develop an affordable large-scale granulator system designed to process reclaimed plastic feedstock suitable for additive manufacturing applications. The 24-month project will focus on testing, prototyping, and optimizing a shredder/granulator system. This project also focuses on the processing steps (e.g. washing and sorting) that can convert waste plastics, like discarded water bottles, into flake/granules which can be 3D printed using re:3D’s Fused Granular Fabrication (FGF) 3D printers. If successful, this could enable more localized 3D printing using recycled plastics, reducing waste and feedstock costs.

The ocean contains a vast reserve of uranium that could satisfy global demand for generations. A newly proposed covalent organic framework utilizes structural asymmetry to increase uptake rates, enabling more efficient oceanic uranium recovery.
A turbine engine assembly includes a heat exchanger that is in thermal communication with an exhaust gas flow. A bypass passage is provided that is configured to selectively route at least a portion of the exhaust gas flow around the heat exchanger in response to a predefined engine operating condition.
Artificial nano Si 3 N 4 derived solid electrolyte interphase enables dendrite-free lithium cycling, effectively suppressing dendrite growth and delivering stable, long-term Li metal anode performance.
Solid-state amine absorbent materials, including those containing guanidine derivatives, have received tremendous attention as the world combats the challenges of climate change.
As artificial intelligence (AI) computing densities continue to increase, industry is pursuing megawatt-scale rack architectures that require tightly coordinated advances in electrical power delivery, thermal management, operations, and infrastructure integration. This document summarizes the primary technical challenges for achieving this target.
Tortuosity-weighted interfacial flux for lithium (TWIF-Li) predicts through-thickness Li gradients in thick composite all-solid-state cathodes without fitted parameters. Image-derived microstructures, GITT-derived concentration-dependent solid diffusion, and tortuosity-weighted interfacial kinetics reproduce operando neutron radiography across practical rates, delivering transferable design rules to suppress transport-limited reaction fronts.
