Number of J/ψ events at BESIII*

Using inclusive decays of $J/\psi $, a precise determination of the number of $J/\psi $ events collected with the BESIII detector was performed. For the two data sets taken in 2009 and 2012, the numbers of $J/\psi $ events were recalculated to be $ (224.0 \pm 1.3)\times10^6 $ and $ (1088.5 \pm 4.4)\times10^6 $, respectively; these numbers are in good agreement with the previous measurements. For the $J/\psi $ sample taken in 2017–2019, the number of events was determined to be $ (8774.0 \pm 39.4)\times10^{6} $. The total number of $J/\psi $ events collected with the BESIII detector was determined to be $ (10087 \pm 44)\times10^{6} $, where the uncertainty is dominated by systematic effects, and the statistical uncertainty is negligible.

Observations of the Cabibbo-Suppressed decays $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$π$ + $π$ 0 , $\mathcal{n}$$π$ + $π$ - $π$ + and the Cabibbo-Favored decay $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$K$ - $π$ + $π$ + *

Using electron-positron annihilation data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 fb -1 , collected by the BESIII detector in the energy region between $4599.53$ $MeV$ and $4698.82$ $MeV$ we report the first observations of the Cabibbo-suppressed decays $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$π$ + $π$ 0 , $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$π$ + $π$ - $π$ + , and the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$K$ - $π$ + $π$ + with statistical significances of $7.9σ$, $7.8σ$, and Misplaced &, respectively. The branching fractions of these decays are measured to be $\mathcal{B}$($Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$π$ + $π$ 0 ) = ($0.64 ± 0.09 ± 0.02$)%, $\mathcal{B}$($Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$π$ + $π$ - $π$ + ) = ($0.45 ± 0.07 ± 0.03$)%, and $\mathcal{B}$ $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$K$ - $π$ + $π$ + ) = ($1.90 ± 0.08 ± 0.09$)% where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. We find that the branching fraction of the decay $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$$π$ + $π$ 0 is about one order of magnitude higher than that of $Λ^{+}_{c}$ → $\mathcal{n}$ $π$ + .

Measurement of the inclusive cross sections of prompt J / ψ and ψ ( 3686 ) production in e + e − annihilation from s = 3.808 to 4.951 GeV

The inclusive cross sections of prompt J / ψ and ψ ( 3686 ) production are measured at center-of-mass energies from 3.808 to 4.951 GeV. The dataset used is 22 fb − 1 of e + e − annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The results obtained are in agreement with the previous BESIII measurements of exclusive J / ψ and ψ ( 3686 ) production. The average values obtained for the cross sections measured in the center-of-mass energy ranges from 4.527 to 4.951 GeV for J / ψ and from 4.843 to 4.951 GeV for ψ ( 3686 ) , where the impact of known resonances is negligible, are 14.0 ± 1.7 ± 3.1 pb and 15.3 ± 3.0 pb , respectively. For J / ψ , the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. For ψ ( 3686 ) , the uncertainty is total. These values are useful for testing charmonium production models. Published by the American Physical Society 2025

Measurements of Σ electromagnetic form factors in the timelike region using the untagged initial-state radiation technique

The process e + e − → Σ + Σ ¯ − is studied from threshold up to 3.04 GeV / c 2 via the initial-state radiation technique using data with an integrated luminosity of 12.0 fb − 1 , collected at center-of-mass energies between 3.773 and 4.258 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The pair production cross sections and the effective form factors of Σ are measured in eleven Σ + Σ ¯ − invariant mass intervals from threshold to 3.04 GeV / c 2 . The results are consistent with the previous results from Belle and BESIII. Furthermore, the branching fractions of the decays J / ψ → Σ + Σ ¯ − and ψ ( 3686 ) → Σ + Σ ¯ − are determined and the obtained results are consistent with the previous results of BESIII. Measurement of the cross section of $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Xi}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ at center-of-mass energies between 3.510 and 4.843 GeV

Abstract Usinge + e − collision data corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 12.9 fb −1 collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the exclusive Born cross sections and the effective form factors of the reaction$$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Xi}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ e + e − → Ξ − Ξ ¯ + are measured via the single baryon-tag method at 23 center-of-mass energies between 3.510 and 4.843 GeV. Evidence for the decay$$ \psi (3770)\to {\Xi}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ ψ 3770 → Ξ − Ξ ¯ + is observed with a significance of 4.5σby analyzing the measured cross sections together with earlier BESIII results. For the other charmonium(-like) statesψ(4040),ψ(4160),Y(4230),Y(4360),ψ(4415), andY(4660), no significant signal of their decay to$$ {\Xi}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ Ξ − Ξ ¯ + is found. For these states, upper limits of the products of the branching fraction and the electronic partial width at the 90% confidence level are provided.

Measurements of the branching fractions of semileptonic D s + decays via e + e − → D s * + D s * −

We measure the absolute branching fractions of semileptonic D s + decays via the e + e − → D s * + D s * − process using e + e − collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 10.64 fb − 1 collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.237 and 4.699 GeV. The branching fractions are B ( D s + → η e + ν e ) = ( 2.35 ± 0.11 stat ± 0.10 syst ) % , B ( D s + → η ′ e + ν e ) = ( 0.82 ± 0.09 stat ± 0.04 syst ) % , B ( D s + → ϕ e + ν e ) = ( 2.21 ± 0.16 stat ± 0.11 syst ) % , B ( D s + → f 0 ( 980 ) e + ν e , f 0 ( 980 ) → π + π − ) = ( 0.15 ± 0.02 stat ± 0.01 syst ) % , B ( D s + → K 0 e + ν e ) = ( 0.24 ± 0.0 4 stat ± 0.0 1 syst ) % , and B ( D s + → K * 0 e + ν e ) = ( 0.19 ± 0.0 3 stat ± 0.0 1 syst ) % . Observation of η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − η

By analyzing ( 27.12 ± 0.14 ) × 10 8 ψ ( 3686 ) events accumulated with the BESIII detector, the decay η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − η is observed for the first time with a significance of 6.2 σ after considering systematic uncertainties. The product of the branching fractions of ψ ( 3686 ) → γ η c ( 2 S ) and η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − η is measured to be B ( ψ ( 3686 ) → γ η c ( 2 S ) ) × B ( η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − η ) = ( 2.39 ± 0.32 ± 0.34 ) × 10 − 6 , where the first uncertainty is statistical, and the second one is systematic. The branching fraction of η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − η is determined to be B ( η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − η ) = ( 3.42 ± 0.46 ± 0.48 ± 2.44 ) × 10 − 3 , where the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction of ψ ( 3686 ) → γ η c ( 2 S ) . Using a recent BESIII measurement of B ( η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − π 0 ) , we also determine the ratio between the branching fractions of η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − η and η c ( 2 S ) → K + K − π 0 to be 1.49 ± 0.22 ± 0.25 , which is consistent with the previous result of at a comparable precision level. Study of η′ → π+π−l+l− decays at BESIII

Abstract With a sample of (10087±44)×10 6 J/ψevents accumulated with the BESIII detector, we analyze the decaysη′→ π + π − l + l − (l=e, μ) via the processJ/ψ → γη′. The branching fractions are measured to be$$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (η′→ π + π − e + e − ) = (2.45±0.02(stat.)±0.08(syst.))×10 −3 and$$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (η′→ π + π − μ + μ − ) = (2.16±0.12(stat.)±0.06(syst.))×10 −5 , and the ratio is$$ \frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{e}^{+}{e}^{-}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)}=113.4\pm 0.9\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 3.7\left(\textrm{syst}.\right) $$ B η ′ → π + π − e + e − B η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − = 113.4 ± 0.9 stat . ± 3.7 syst . . In addition, by combining theη′ →π + π − e + e − andη′ →π + π − μ + μ − decays, the slope parameter of the electromagnetic transition form factor is measured to beb η′ = 1.30 ± 0.19 (GeV/c 2 ) −2 , which is consistent with previous measurements from BESIII and theoretical predictions from the VMD model. The asymmetry in the angle between theπ + π − andl + l − decay planes, which has the potential to reveal theCP-violation originating from an unconventional electric dipole transition, is also investigated. The asymmetry parameters are determined to be$$ {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{e}^{+}{e}^{-}\right)=\left(-0.21\pm 0.73\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{syst}.\right)\right)\% $$ A CP η ′ → π + π − e + e − = − 0.21 ± 0.73 stat . ± 0.01 syst . % and$$ {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)=\left(0.62\pm 4.71\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.08\left(\textrm{syst}.\right)\right)\% $$ A CP η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − = 0.62 ± 4.71 stat . ± 0.08 syst . % , implying that no evidence ofCP-violation is observed at the present statistics. Finally, an axion-like particle is searched for via the decayη′ →π + π − a, a→e + e − , and upper limits of the branching fractions are presented for the mass assumptions of the axion-like particle in the range of 0−500 MeV/c 2 .

Search for hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness in e + e - → $K$ + $D^{*}_{s}$ - $D$ *0 + c.c.*

We report a search for a heavier partner of the recently observed Z cs (3985) - state, denoted as $Z^{'-}_{cs}$, in the process e + e - → $K$ + $D^{*}_{s}$ - $D$ *0 + c.c., based on e + e - collision data collected at the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.661, 4.682 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector. The $Z^{'-}_{cs}$ is of interest as it is expected to be a candidate for a hidden-charm and open-strange tetraquark. A partial-reconstruction technique is used to isolate K + recoil-mass spectra, which are probed for a potential contribution from $Z^{'-}_{cs}$ → $D^{*}_{s}$ - $D$ *0 + (c.c.). We find an excess of $Z^{'-}_{cs}$ → $D^{*}_{s}$ - $D$ *0 + (c.c.) candidates with a significance of 2.1σ, after considering systematic uncertainties, at a mass of 4123.5 ± 0.7 stat. ± 4.7 syst. ) MeV/c 2 . As the data set is limited in size, the upper limits are evaluated at the 90% confidence level on the product of the Born cross sections (σ BORN ) and the branching fraction ($\mathcal{B}$) of $Z^{'-}_{cs}$ → $D^{*}_{s}$ - $D$ *0 , under different assumptions of the $Z^{'-}_{cs}$ mass from 4.120 to 4.140 MeV and of the width from 10 to 50 MeV at the three center-of-mass energies. The upper limits of σ BORN ∙ $\mathcal{B}$ are found to be at the level of $\mathcal{O}$(1) pb at each energy. Larger data samples are needed to confirm the $Z^{'-}_{cs}$ state and clarify its nature in the coming years.
