Manual control methodology - study with annotated bibliography
Automatic test and planning procedures bibliography for navigation and air traffic control satellites
The bibliography is arranged in separate sections under headings that include: (1) spacecraft cleanliness, (2) general cleaning, (3) clean room and work stations, (4) contamination, (5) decontamination, (6) manufacturing, (7) miscellaneous, (8) particle count analysis, (9) passivation, (10) packaging, (11) water, and (12) acids and detergents.
Laminar Flow Control technology development has undergone tremendous progress in recent years as focused research efforts in materials, aerodynamics, systems, and structures have begun to pay off. A virtual explosion in the number of research papers published on this subject has occurred since interest was first stimulated by the 1976 introduction of NASA's Aircraft Energy Efficiency Laminar Flow Control Program. The purpose of this selected bibliography is to list available, unclassified laminar flow (both controlled and natural) research completed from about 1975 to mid 1982. Some earlier pertinent reports are included but listed separately in the Appendix. Reports listed herein emphasize aerodynamics and systems studies, but some structures work is also summarized. Aerodynamic work is mainly limited to the subsonic and transonic sped regimes. Because wind-tunnel flow qualities, such as free stream disturbance level, play such an important role in boundary-layer transition, much recent research has been done in this area and it is also included.
A bibliography of information pertinent to the problem of simulating plants is presented. Detailed simulations of constituent pieces are necessary to justify simple models which may be used for analysis. Thus, this area of study is necessary to support the Earth Resources Program. The report sums up the present state of the problem of simulating vegetation. This area holds the hope of major benefits to mankind through understanding the ecology of a region and in improving agricultural yield.

A survey was conducted and a bibliography compiled on attainment of laminar flow in air through the use of favorable pressure gradient and suction. This report contains the survey, summaries of data for both ground and flight experiments, and abstracts of referenced reports. Much early information is also included which may be of some immediate use as background material for LFC applications.
Linearized mathematical models of feed-system-coupled combustion instability are summarized and discussed. Following the derivation of sufficient conditions for stability from the simplest bipropellant model, the complications that are imposed on the model by compressible fluids in the feed system, nonrigid feed system structures, and time-varying combustion processes are considered. A specific case of an instability associated with a nonrigid injector is described; it is shown that the instability was eliminated by the method predicted by the model to be most effective for control. A bibliography lists papers dealing with these kinds of stabilities.

Publications of research sponsored by the NASA Controlled Ecological Life Support System (CELSS) program are listed. The CELSS program encompasses research and technology with the goal of developing an autonomous bioregenerative life support system, which is based upon the integration of biological and physical/chemical processes, that will produce nutritious and palatable food, potable and hygienic water, and a breathable atmosphere by recycling metabolic and other wastes. This research and technology development is being performed in the areas of biomass production/food processing, waste management, and systems management and control. The bibliography follows these divisions. Principal investigators whose research tasks resulted in publication are identified by an asterisk. Publications are identified by a record number corresponding with their entry in the Life Sciences Bibliographic Database, maintained at the George Washington University.
