Materials Data on BaSi2 by Materials Project

BaSi2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Ba sites. In the first Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Si atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Si bond distances ranging from 3.40–3.63 Å. In the second Ba site, Ba is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to eleven Si atoms. There are a spread of Ba–Si bond distances ranging from 3.46–3.82 Å. There are three inequivalent Si sites. In the first Si site, Si is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to five Ba and three Si atoms. There are two shorter (2.42 Å) and one longer (2.45 Å) Si–Si bond lengths. In the second Si site, Si is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to five Ba and three Si atoms. Both Si–Si bond lengths are 2.41 Å. In the third Si site, Si is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to five Ba and three Si atoms. The Si–Si bond length is 2.41 Å.

Materials Data on BaSi2(H3O4)2 by Materials Project

BaSi2(H3O4)2 crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1/c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba2+ is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to one H1+ and ten O2- atoms. The Ba–H bond length is 2.84 Å. There are a spread of Ba–O bond distances ranging from 2.79–3.28 Å. There are two inequivalent Si4+ sites. In the first Si4+ site, Si4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Si–O bond distances ranging from 1.59–1.66 Å. In the second Si4+ site, Si4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing SiO4 tetrahedra. There is one shorter (1.62 Å) and three longer (1.66 Å) Si–O bond length. There are six inequivalent H1+ sites. In the first H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 1.01 Å. In the second H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one Ba2+ and two O2- atoms. There is one shorter (1.01 Å) and one longer (1.63 Å) H–O bond length. In the third H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.98 Å. In the fourth H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 1.00 Å. In the fifth H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The H–O bond length is 0.99 Å. In the sixth H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two O2- atoms. There is one shorter (1.03 Å) and one longer (1.56 Å) H–O bond length. There are eight inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a water-like geometry to two equivalent Ba2+ and two H1+ atoms. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to one Ba2+ and two Si4+ atoms. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 120 degrees geometry to one Ba2+, one Si4+, and one H1+ atom. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ba2+, one Si4+, and one H1+ atom. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a water-like geometry to two equivalent Ba2+ and two H1+ atoms. In the sixth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 120 degrees geometry to one Ba2+ and two Si4+ atoms. In the seventh O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Si4+ and one H1+ atom. In the eighth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 120 degrees geometry to one Ba2+, one Si4+, and one H1+ atom.

Materials Data on BaSi2 by Materials Project

BaSi2 crystallizes in the cubic P4_332 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent Si atoms. There are six shorter (3.41 Å) and two longer (3.44 Å) Ba–Si bond lengths. Si is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ba and three equivalent Si atoms. All Si–Si bond lengths are 2.46 Å.

BaSi2 is hexagonal omega structure structured and crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Si atoms. All Ba–Si bond lengths are 3.32 Å. Si is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ba and three equivalent Si atoms. All Si–Si bond lengths are 2.46 Å.

Materials Data on BaSi2 by Materials Project

BaSi2 is hexagonal omega structure structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded to twelve equivalent Si atoms to form a mixture of edge and face-sharing BaSi12 cuboctahedra. All Ba–Si bond lengths are 3.49 Å. Si is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ba and three equivalent Si atoms. All Si–Si bond lengths are 2.41 Å.

Materials Data on BaSi2 by Materials Project

BaSi2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded in a distorted q4 geometry to ten equivalent Si atoms. There are two shorter (3.36 Å) and eight longer (3.61 Å) Ba–Si bond lengths. Si is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ba and one Si atom. The Si–Si bond length is 2.17 Å.

Materials Data on BaSi2(BO4)2 by Materials Project

BaB2Si2O8 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba2+ is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten O2- atoms. There are a spread of Ba–O bond distances ranging from 2.71–3.20 Å. B3+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form BO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one BO4 tetrahedra and corners with three equivalent SiO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.47–1.51 Å. Si4+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form SiO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one SiO4 tetrahedra and corners with three equivalent BO4 tetrahedra. There is two shorter (1.63 Å) and two longer (1.64 Å) Si–O bond length. There are five inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ba2+ and two equivalent B3+ atoms. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ba2+, one B3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Ba2+, one B3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to one Ba2+, one B3+, and one Si4+ atom. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent Si4+ atoms.

Materials Data on BaSi2(NO)2 by Materials Project

BaSi2O2N2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pbcn space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba2+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to two equivalent N3- and eight equivalent O2- atoms. Both Ba–N bond lengths are 3.33 Å. There are a spread of Ba–O bond distances ranging from 2.79–3.09 Å. Si4+ is bonded to three equivalent N3- and one O2- atom to form corner-sharing SiN3O tetrahedra. There is one shorter (1.75 Å) and two longer (1.76 Å) Si–N bond length. The Si–O bond length is 1.63 Å. N3- is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to one Ba2+ and three equivalent Si4+ atoms. O2- is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to four equivalent Ba2+ and one Si4+ atom.
