Branching fraction measurement of the decay B + → ψ ( 2 S ) ϕ ( 1020 ) K +

The branching fraction of the decay B + → ψ ( 2 S ) ϕ ( 1020 ) K + , relative to the topologically similar decay B + → J / ψ ϕ ( 1020 ) K + , is measured using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb − 1 . The ratio is found to be 0.061 ± 0.004 ± 0.009 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. Using the world-average branching fraction for B + → J / ψ ϕ ( 1020 ) K + , the branching fraction for the decay B + → ψ ( 2 S ) ϕ ( 1020 ) K + is found to be ( 3.0 ± 0.2 ± 0.5 ± 0.2 ) × 10 − 6 , where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is due to the branching fraction of the normalization channel. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration 2025 CERN

Measurement of branching fractions of ${\Lambda}_{\textrm{c}}^{+}$ decays to Σ⁺K⁺K⁻, Σ⁺Φ and Σ⁺K⁺π⁻(π 0 )

Based on 4.5 fb - 1 data taken at seven center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.600 to 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the branching fractions of \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + + hadrons relative to \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + π + π - . Combining with the world average branching fraction of \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + π + π - , their branching fractions are measured to be (0 . 377 ± 0 . 042 ± 0 . 020 ± 0 . 021)% for \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + K + K - , (0 . 200 ± 0 . 023 ± 0 . 011 ± 0 . 011)% for \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + K + π - , (0 . 414 ± 0 . 080 ± 0 . 030 ± 0 . 023)% for \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + Φ and (0 . 197 ± 0 . 036 ± 0 . 009 ± 0 . 011)% for \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + K + K - (non- Φ ). In all the above results, the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic and the third are from external input of the branching fraction of \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + π + π - . Since no signal for \( {\Lambda}_c^{+} \) → Σ + K + π - π 0 is observed, the upper limit of its branching fraction is determined to be 0.13% at the 90% confidence level.

Measurement of the branching fraction of Λ + 𝑐 →𝑝⁢𝐾 0 𝑆⁢ 𝜋 0 at Belle

We report a precise measurement of the ratio of branching fractions ℬ⁡(Λ$^+_𝑐$ → 𝑝⁢𝐾$^0_𝑆$⁢𝜋 0 )/ℬ⁡(Λ$^+_𝑐$ → 𝑝⁢𝐾 − ⁢𝜋 + ) using 980 fb −1 of 𝑒 + ⁢𝑒 − data from the Belle experiment. We obtain a value of ℬ⁡(Λ$^+_𝑐$ → 𝑝⁢𝐾$^0_𝑆$⁢𝜋 0 )/ℬ⁡(Λ$^+_𝑐$ → 𝑝⁢𝐾 − ⁢𝜋 + ) =0.339 ±0.002 ±0.009, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This Belle result is consistent with the previous measurement from the CLEO experiment but has a fivefold improvement in precision. By combining our result with the world average ℬ⁡(Λ$^+_𝑐$ → 𝑝⁢𝐾 − ⁢𝜋 + ), we obtain the absolute branching fraction ℬ⁡(Λ$^+_𝑐$ → 𝑝⁢𝐾$^0_𝑆$⁢𝜋 0 ) =(2.12 ± 0.01 ±0.05 ±0.10)%, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and the uncertainty in the absolute branching fraction scale ℬ⁡(Λ$^+_𝑐$ → 𝑝⁢𝐾 − ⁢𝜋 + ), respectively. This measurement can shed light on hadronic decay mechanisms in charmed baryon decays.

Measurement of the ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}\left({B}_c^{+}\to {B}_s^0{\pi}^{+}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({B}_c^{+}\to J/\psi {\pi}^{+}\right)$

The ratio of branching fractions of ${B}_c^{+}\to {B}_s^0{\pi}^{+}$ and ${B}_c^{+}\to J/\psi {\pi}^{+}$ decays is measured with proton-proton collision data of a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The data were collected with the LHCb experiment during 2016–2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb –1 . The ${B}_s^0$ mesons are reconstructed via the decays ${B}_s^0\to J/\psi \phi$ and ${B}_s^0\to {D}_s^{-}{\pi}^{+}$. The ratio of branching fractions is measured to be $\mathcal{B}\left({B}_c^{+}\to {B}_s^0{\pi}^{+}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({B}_c^{+}\to J/\psi {\pi}^{+}\right)=91\pm 10\pm 8\pm 3$ where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the knowledge of the branching fractions of the intermediate state decays.

Measurement of branching fractions and direct C P asymmetries for B → K π and B → π π decays at Belle II

We report measurements of the branching fractions and direct C P asymmetries of the decays B 0 → K + π − , B + → K + π 0 , B + → K 0 π + , and B 0 → K 0 π 0 , and use these for testing the standard model through an isospin-based sum rule. In addition, we measure the branching fraction and direct C P asymmetry of the decay B + → π + π 0 and the branching fraction of the decay B 0 → π + π − . The data are collected with the elle II detector from e + e − collisions at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance produced by the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider and contain 387 × 10 6 bottom-antibottom meson pairs. Signal yields are determined in two-dimensional fits to background-discriminating variables, and range from 500 to 3900 decays, depending on the channel. We obtain − 0.03 ± 0.13 ± 0.04 for the sum rule in agreement with the standard model expectation of zero and with a precision comparable to the best existing determinations. First measurements of the absolute branching fraction of Λ c ( 2625 ) + → Λ c + π + π − and upper limit on Λ c ( 2595 ) + → Λ c + π + π −

The absolute branching fraction of the decay Λ c ( 2625 ) + → Λ c + π + π − is measured for the first time to be ( 50.2 ± 5.7 stat ± 3.5 syst ) % with 368.48 pb − 1 of e + e − collision data collected by the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energies of s = 4.918 and 4.950 GeV. Although the central value of the result is lower than the theoretical prediction of 67%, obtained from isospin symmetry, they are consistent taking the uncertainties into account. This is the first absolute branching fraction measurement for Λ c ( 2625 ) + since it was found. This measurement is necessary to obtain the coupling constants for the transitions between s -wave and p -wave charmed baryons in heavy hadron chiral perturbation theory. In addition, we search for the decay Λ c ( 2595 ) + → Λ c + π + π − . No significant signal is observed, and the upper limit on its branching fraction is determined to be 85.0% at the 90% confidence level. Published by the American Physical Society 2024

Measurement of the absolute branching fraction of the three-body decay Λ c + → Ξ 0 K + π 0 and search for Λ c + → n K + π 0 , Σ 0 K + π 0 , and Λ K + π 0

The Cabbibo-favored decay Λ c + → Ξ 0 K + π 0 is studied for the first time using 6.1 fb − 1 of e + e − collision data at center-of-mass energies between 4.600 and 4.840 GeV, collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. With a double-tag method, the branching fraction of the three-body decay Λ c + → Ξ 0 K + π 0 is measured to be ( 7.79 ± 1.46 ± 0.95 ) × 10 − 3 , where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The branching fraction of the two-body decay Λ c + → Ξ ( 1530 ) 0 K + is ( 5.99 ± 1.04 ± 0.32 ) × 10 − 3 , which is consistent with the previous result of ( 5.02 ± 0.99 ± 0.31 ) × 10 − 3 . In addition, the upper limit on the branching fraction of the doubly Cabbibo-suppressed decay Λ c + → n K + π 0 is 7.1 × 10 − 4 at the 90% confidence level. The upper limits on the branching fractions of Λ c + → Σ 0 K + π 0 and Λ K + π 0 are also determined to be 1.8 × 10 − 3 and 2.0 × 10 − 3 , respectively. The branching fraction for decay 𝐷 0 → 𝐾 − ⁢𝜋 + ⁢𝑒 + ⁢𝑒 − is measured to be (39.6 ± 4.5 (stat) ± 2.9 (syst)) × 10 −7 , with the dielectron mass in the 𝜌/𝜔 mass region 675 < 𝑚 𝑒⁢𝑒 < 875 MeV/⁢𝑐 2 . We also search for 𝐷 0 → ℎ − ⁡ℎ (′)+ ⁡𝑒 + ⁢𝑒 − (ℎ (′) = 𝐾, 𝜋) decays with the dielectron mass near the 𝜂 and 𝜙 resonances, and away from these resonances for the 𝐾 + ⁢𝐾 − ⁢𝑒 + ⁢𝑒 − and 𝜋 + ⁢𝜋 − ⁢𝑒 + ⁢𝑒 − modes. Measurements of the branching fractions of ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Sigma }^{+}{K}_{S}^{0}$, ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{\pi }^{+}$, and ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{K}+$ at Belle and Belle II

Using 983.0 fb −1 and 427.9 fb −1 data samples collected with the Belle and Belle II detectors at the KEKB and SuperKEKB asymmetric energy e + e − colliders, respectively, we present studies of the Cabibbo-favored ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}$ decays ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Sigma }^{+}{K}_{S}^{0}$ and ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{\pi }^{+}$, and the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{K}^{+}$. The ratios of branching fractions of ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Sigma }^{+}{K}_{S}^{0}$ and ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{K}^{+}$ relative to that of ${\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}$ are measured for the first time, while the ratio $\mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{\pi }^{+})/\mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+})$ is also determined and improved by an order of magnitude in precision. The measured branching fraction ratios are $\begin{array}{c}\frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Sigma }^{+}{K}_{S}^{0}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}\right)}=0.067\pm 0.007\pm 0.003,\\ \frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{\pi }^{+}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}\right)}=0.251\pm 0.005\pm 0.010,\\ \frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{K}^{+}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}\right)}=0.017\pm 0.003\pm 0.001.\end{array}$ Additionally, the ratio $\mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{K}^{+})/\mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{\pi }^{+})$ is measured to be 0.068 ± 0.010 ± 0.004. Here, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Multiplying the ratios by the branching fraction of the normalization mode, $\mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+})=(2.9\pm 1.3)%$, we obtain the following absolute branching fractions $\begin{array}{c}\mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Sigma }^{+}{K}_{S}^{0})=(0.194\pm 0.021\pm 0.009\pm 0.087)\text{%},\\ \mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{\pi }^{+})=(0.728\pm 0.014\pm 0.027\pm 0.326)\text{%},\\ \mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{0}{K}^{+})=(0.049\pm 0.007\pm 0.003\pm 0.022)\text{%},\end{array}$ where the third uncertainties are from $\mathcal{B}({\Xi }_{c}^{+}\to {\Xi }^{-}{\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+})$.

Measurements of the branching fraction ratio $$ \mathcal{B}\left(\phi \to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left(\phi \to {\textrm{e}}^{+}{\textrm{e}}^{-}\right) $$ with charm meson decays

Abstract Measurements of the branching fraction ratio$$ \mathcal{B}\left(\phi \to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left(\phi \to {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\right) $$ B ϕ → μ + μ − / B ϕ → e + e − with$$ {D}_s^{+}\to {\pi}^{+}\phi $$ D s + → π + ϕ andD + → π + ϕdecays, denoted$$ {R}_{\phi \pi}^s $$ R ϕπ s and$$ {R}_{\phi \pi}^d $$ R ϕπ d , are presented. The analysis is performed using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb −1 ofppcollision data collected with the LHCb experiment. The branching fractions are normalised with respect to theB + →K + J/ψ(→e + e − ) andB + →K + J/ψ(→μ + μ − ) decay modes. The combination of the results yields$$ {R}_{\phi \pi}=1.022\pm 0.012\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.048\left(\textrm{syst}\right). $$ R ϕπ = 1.022 ± 0.012 stat ± 0.048 syst . The result is compatible with previous measurements of theϕ→ℓ + ℓ − branching fractions and predictions based on the Standard Model.

Measurement of the branching fraction of ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0

Based on ( 2712.4 ± 14.1 ) × 10 6 ψ ( 2 S ) events, 7.9 fb − 1 ψ ( 3773 ) data, and 0.8 fb − 1 off-resonance data samples collected with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0 and e + e − → γ π 0 form factor at momentum transfers Q 2 ∼ 13 GeV 2 . The e + e − → γ π 0 cross section is fitted with considering the interference between the ψ ( 2 S ) and continuum amplitudes and two solutions are found, B = 3.74 × 10 − 7 with ϕ = 3.93 rad and B = 7.87 × 10 − 7 with ϕ = 2.08 rad . Here, B is the branching fraction of ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0 and ϕ is the relative phase angle between the ψ ( 2 S ) and continuum amplitudes. Due to insufficient off-resonance data, the branching fraction B ( ψ ( 2 S ) → γ π 0 ) is determined to be in the range [ 2.7 , 9.7 ] × 10 − 7 within 1 standard deviation of the contour region. Observation of time-dependent C P violation and measurement of the branching fraction of B 0 → J / ψ π 0 decays

We present a measurement of the branching fraction and time-dependent charge-parity ( C P ) decay-rate asymmetries in B 0 → J / ψ π 0 decays. The data sample was collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric e + e − collider in 2019–2022 and contains ( 387 ± 6 ) × 10 6 B B ¯ meson pairs from ϒ ( 4 S ) decays. We reconstruct 392 ± 24 signal decays and fit the C P parameters from the distribution of the proper-decay-time difference of the two B mesons. We measure the branching fraction to be ( B 0 → J / ψ π 0 ) = ( 2.00 ± 0.12 ± 0.09 ) × 10 − 5 and the direct and mixing-induced C P asymmetries to be C C P = 0.13 ± 0.12 ± 0.03 and S C P = − 0.88 ± 0.17 ± 0.03 , respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. We observe mixing-induced C P violation with a significance of 5.0 standard deviations for the first time in this mode. Published by the American Physical Society 2025

Measurement of the branching fraction of the decay J / ψ → p p ¯ η

A high-precision measurement of the branching fraction of the decay J / ψ → p p ¯ η is performed using ( 10 087 ± 44 ) × 10 6 J / ψ events recorded by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. The branching fractions of the two decays J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → γ γ ) and J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → π + π − π 0 ) are measured individually to be B ( J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → γ γ ) ) = ( 1.480 ± 0.001 ± 0.024 ) × 10 − 3 and B ( J / ψ → p p ¯ η ( η → π + π − π 0 ) ) = ( 1.557 ± 0.003 ± 0.038 ) × 10 − 3 , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Both results are compatible within their uncorrelated systematic uncertainties. The combined result is B ( J / ψ → p p ¯ η ) = ( 1.495 ± 0.001 ± 0.023 ) × 10 − 3 , where the first uncertainty is the combined statistical uncertainty and the second one the combined systematic uncertainty of both analyses, incorporating correlations between them.
