A biomedical applications display cased is described along with its requirements. The preparation of a brochure on NASA contributions to biomedicine is also discussed briefly.
Design brochure for commercially-available solar-heating system is valuable to architects, engineers, and designers. It contains information on system configuration, system sizing, and mechanical layout. Drawings and specifications of all components and typical installation details are included in appendix.
The variable information content of Earth Resource products at different levels of spatial resolution and in different spectral bands is addressed. A low-cost brochure that scientists and laymen could use to visualize the effects of increasing the spatial resolution of multispectral scanner images was produced.

The In-Space Manufacturing (ISM) Project is a NASA asset managed out of Marshall Space Flight Center that is responsible for developing the capabilities to provide on-demand, sustainable manufacturing, repair, and recycling operations during NASA Exploration Missions (in-transit and on-surface). One of ISM’s primary objectives with the key capabilities being developed is a “Make it, Don’t take it” approach. This includes testing and advancing the desired technologies, as well as establishing the required skills and processes for the processes (such as certification and characterization) that will enable the technologies to become institutionalized.
Low temperature hydraulic system development and testing for space applications
Conceptual design and test program for manned Mars Excursion Module /MEM/ mission in 1980 period
A briefing is presented of the preliminary design of the selected Research and Applications Module (RAM) concepts, operations, and missions of the sortie and free-flying RAM. Included are the study program plan, program objectives, guidelines, source of payloads, mission requirements, shuttle performance, guidance navigation and control, propulsion, and costs.
The capabilities of a proposed communications satellite that would be devoted to experiments and demonstrations of various public services is described. A Public Service Communications Satellite study was undertaken at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) to define the problems and opportunities of a renewed NASA role and the form such NASA involvement should take. The concept that has evolved has resulted from careful consideration of experiments that were already undertaken on existing satellites.
Report details design and performance specifications of complete system for space and hot-water heating that is assembled from commercially available components. System can meet need of single family dwelling having approximately 1,200 sq ft of floor area and can be scaled to requirements of larger or smaller installations.
A prototype solar heating and hot water system using air as the collector fluid and a pebble bed for heat storage was designed for installation into a single family dwelling. The system, subsystem, and installation requirements are described. System operation and performance are discussed, and procedures for sizing the system to a specific site are presented.
A complete residential solar space heating and hot water system is described. Low maintenance, durable, and efficient air heating collectors are used. The collectors have a selective absorber and a tempered glass cover nearly one-quarter of an inch thick with an aluminum frame. The solar energy can be delivered directly to the living area when there is a demand; otherwise, it is stored in the form of hot water. Hot water storage is accomplished through the use of an air-to-water exchanger. The hot water storage is used simultaneously to preheat the domestic hot water, as well as to store energy for space heating.
Information is provided on the design and performance of the IBM SIMS Prototype System 2, solar domestic hot water system, for single family residences. The document provides sufficient data to permit procurement, installation, operation, and maintenance by qualified architectural engineers or contractors.
Generalized information on system configuration, system sizing, and mechanical layout is presented to assist the architect or designer in preparing construction drawings and specifications for the installation of the CSI integrated solar heating systems. Efficiency in space utilization of a full length collector and the importance of proper sizing of the collector array are among the topics discussed. Details of storage and transport subsystems are provided along with drawings and specifications of all components of the CSI system.
The design, installation, performance, and application of a solar hot air heater for residential, commercial and industrial use is reported. The system has been installed at the Concho Indian School in El Reno, Oklahoma.
A closed hydronic solar system is reported for space and hot water heating. Design, performance, and hardware specifications are presented sufficient for architectural engineers and contractors to procure, install, operate, and maintain a similar solar application.
