ZrC is Halite, Rock Salt structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Zr4+ is bonded to six equivalent C4- atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing ZrC6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. All Zr–C bond lengths are 2.36 Å. C4- is bonded to six equivalent Zr4+ atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing CZr6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°.

ZrC is Tetraauricupride structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Zr4+ is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent C4- atoms. All Zr–C bond lengths are 2.54 Å. C4- is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Zr4+ atoms.

ZrC is Zincblende, Sphalerite structured and crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Zr4+ is bonded to four equivalent C4- atoms to form corner-sharing ZrC4 tetrahedra. All Zr–C bond lengths are 2.21 Å. C4- is bonded to four equivalent Zr4+ atoms to form corner-sharing CZr4 tetrahedra.

ZrC is Molybdenum Carbide MAX Phase-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Zr4+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent C4- atoms. All Zr–C bond lengths are 2.36 Å. C4- is bonded to six equivalent Zr4+ atoms to form a mixture of edge, corner, and face-sharing CZr6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 49°.
