Materials Data on Ce(SeO3)2 by Materials Project

Ce(SeO3)2 crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1/c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce4+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight O2- atoms. There are a spread of Ce–O bond distances ranging from 2.28–2.59 Å. There are two inequivalent Se4+ sites. In the first Se4+ site, Se4+ is bonded in a trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three O2- atoms. There are a spread of Se–O bond distances ranging from 1.71–1.76 Å. In the second Se4+ site, Se4+ is bonded in a trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three O2- atoms. There is two shorter (1.73 Å) and one longer (1.74 Å) Se–O bond length. There are six inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 120 degrees geometry to one Ce4+ and one Se4+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted bent 120 degrees geometry to one Ce4+ and one Se4+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ce4+ and one Se4+ atom. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Ce4+ and one Se4+ atom. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Ce4+ and one Se4+ atom. In the sixth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Ce4+ and one Se4+ atom.

Materials Data on Ce4Se3O4 by Materials Project

Ce4Se3O4 is Bixbyite (Mn,Fe)2O4-like structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic Cm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are four inequivalent Ce+3.50+ sites. In the first Ce+3.50+ site, Ce+3.50+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Se2- and four O2- atoms. There are two shorter (3.08 Å) and two longer (3.23 Å) Ce–Se bond lengths. There are a spread of Ce–O bond distances ranging from 2.34–2.42 Å. In the second Ce+3.50+ site, Ce+3.50+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Se2- and four O2- atoms. All Ce–Se bond lengths are 3.08 Å. There are two shorter (2.39 Å) and two longer (2.40 Å) Ce–O bond lengths. In the third Ce+3.50+ site, Ce+3.50+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Se2- and four O2- atoms. Both Ce–Se bond lengths are 3.12 Å. There are a spread of Ce–O bond distances ranging from 2.28–2.42 Å. In the fourth Ce+3.50+ site, Ce+3.50+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Se2- and four O2- atoms. There are two shorter (3.08 Å) and two longer (3.23 Å) Ce–Se bond lengths. There are a spread of Ce–O bond distances ranging from 2.34–2.43 Å. There are three inequivalent Se2- sites. In the first Se2- site, Se2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Ce+3.50+ atoms. In the second Se2- site, Se2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Ce+3.50+ atoms. In the third Se2- site, Se2- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Ce+3.50+ atoms. There are four inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded to four Ce+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OCe4 tetrahedra. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded to four Ce+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OCe4 tetrahedra. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded to four Ce+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OCe4 tetrahedra. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded to four Ce+3.50+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OCe4 tetrahedra.

Materials Data on Ce2SeO2 by Materials Project

Ce2SeO2 crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce3+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Se2- and four equivalent O2- atoms. All Ce–Se bond lengths are 3.08 Å. There are one shorter (2.37 Å) and three longer (2.38 Å) Ce–O bond lengths. Se2- is bonded to six equivalent Ce3+ atoms to form distorted SeCe6 octahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent OCe4 tetrahedra, edges with six equivalent SeCe6 octahedra, and edges with six equivalent OCe4 tetrahedra. O2- is bonded to four equivalent Ce3+ atoms to form OCe4 tetrahedra that share corners with six equivalent SeCe6 octahedra, corners with six equivalent OCe4 tetrahedra, edges with three equivalent SeCe6 octahedra, and edges with three equivalent OCe4 tetrahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 27–48°.

Materials Data on Ce2SeO2 by Materials Project

Ce2SeO2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce3+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Se2- and four equivalent O2- atoms. All Ce–Se bond lengths are 3.36 Å. All Ce–O bond lengths are 2.33 Å. Se2- is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Ce3+ atoms. O2- is bonded to four equivalent Ce3+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OCe4 tetrahedra.
