Materials Data on Fe3PO7 by Materials Project

Fe3PO7 crystallizes in the trigonal R3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Fe3+ is bonded to five O2- atoms to form FeO5 trigonal bipyramids that share corners with two equivalent PO4 tetrahedra, corners with four equivalent FeO5 trigonal bipyramids, and edges with two equivalent FeO5 trigonal bipyramids. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 1.93–2.23 Å. P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with six equivalent FeO5 trigonal bipyramids. There is three shorter (1.54 Å) and one longer (1.59 Å) P–O bond length. There are three inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Fe3+ and one P5+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three equivalent Fe3+ atoms. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Fe3+ and one P5+ atom.

Materials Data on Fe2PO5 by Materials Project

Fe2(PO4)O crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/amd space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Fe+2.50+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form FeO6 octahedra that share corners with four equivalent FeO6 octahedra, corners with four equivalent PO4 tetrahedra, and faces with two equivalent FeO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 55°. There are two shorter (2.08 Å) and four longer (2.09 Å) Fe–O bond lengths. P5+ is bonded to four equivalent O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with eight equivalent FeO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 41°. All P–O bond lengths are 1.55 Å. There are two inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Fe+2.50+ atoms. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Fe+2.50+ and one P5+ atom.

Fe2P2O7 crystallizes in the triclinic P1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Fe2+ sites. In the first Fe2+ site, Fe2+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O2- atoms. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.03–2.61 Å. In the second Fe2+ site, Fe2+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O2- atoms. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.03–2.62 Å. There are two inequivalent P5+ sites. Materials Data on FePO4 by Materials Project

FePO4 is quartz (alpha)-derived structured and crystallizes in the trigonal P3_121 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Fe3+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form FeO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four equivalent PO4 tetrahedra. There is two shorter (1.88 Å) and two longer (1.89 Å) Fe–O bond length. P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four equivalent FeO4 tetrahedra. All P–O bond lengths are 1.55 Å. There are two inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Fe3+ and one P5+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Fe3+ and one P5+ atom.

The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 60–65°. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.07–2.42 Å. In the second Fe2+ site, Fe2+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form FeO6 octahedra that share corners with four equivalent FeO6 pentagonal pyramids, corners with two equivalent PO4 tetrahedra, edges with two equivalent FeO6 pentagonal pyramids, and edges with two equivalent PO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Fe–O bond distances ranging from 2.13–2.22 Å. P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share a cornercorner with one FeO6 octahedra, corners with four equivalent FeO6 pentagonal pyramids, an edgeedge with one FeO6 octahedra, and an edgeedge with one FeO6 pentagonal pyramid. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 53°. There is three shorter (1.55 Å) and one longer (1.59 Å) P–O bond length. There are four inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two Fe2+ and one P5+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to two Fe2+ and one P5+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted rectangular see-saw-like geometry to three Fe2+ and one P5+ atom. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Fe2+ and one P5+ atom.

FePO4 is quartz (alpha)-derived structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pna2_1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Fe3+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form FeO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four equivalent PO4 tetrahedra. There is three shorter (1.88 Å) and one longer (1.89 Å) Fe–O bond length. P5+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form PO4 tetrahedra that share corners with four equivalent FeO4 tetrahedra. There is one shorter (1.54 Å) and three longer (1.55 Å) P–O bond length. There are four inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Fe3+ and one P5+ atom. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 43–45°. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.50–1.62 Å.
