Ni5Ge3 crystallizes in the monoclinic C2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are five inequivalent Ni sites. In the first Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six Ni and six Ge atoms. There are a spread of Ni–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.52–2.66 Å. There are a spread of Ni–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.40–2.91 Å. In the second Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six Ni and six Ge atoms. There are a spread of Ni–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.52–2.67 Å. There are a spread of Ni–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.39–2.89 Å. In the third Ni site, Ni is bonded to six Ni and six Ge atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing NiNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra. All Ni–Ni bond lengths are 2.56 Å. There are a spread of Ni–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.46–2.79 Å. In the fourth Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to six Ni and five Ge atoms. Materials Data on Ni2Ge by Materials Project

Ni2Ge crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Ni sites. In the first Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight Ni and six equivalent Ge atoms. There are two shorter (2.55 Å) and six longer (2.64 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. All Ni–Ge bond lengths are 2.64 Å. In the second Ni site, Ni is bonded to six equivalent Ni and five equivalent Ge atoms to form a mixture of distorted face and corner-sharing NiNi6Ge5 trigonal bipyramids. There are three shorter (2.31 Å) and two longer (2.55 Å) Ni–Ge bond lengths. Ge is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to eleven Ni atoms.

In the first Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ni and five equivalent Ge atoms. There are a spread of Ni–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.64–2.78 Å. There are a spread of Ni–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.37–2.77 Å. In the second Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to eight Ni and five equivalent Ge atoms. Both Ni–Ni bond lengths are 2.62 Å. There are a spread of Ni–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.42–2.63 Å. Ge is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten Ni atoms.

Materials Data on Ni3Ge by Materials Project

Ni3Ge is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ni is bonded to eight equivalent Ni and four equivalent Ge atoms to form NiNi8Ge4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent NiNi8Ge4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent GeNi12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent NiNi8Ge4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent GeNi12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent NiNi8Ge4 cuboctahedra. All Ni–Ni bond lengths are 2.53 Å. All Ni–Ge bond lengths are 2.53 Å. Ge is bonded to twelve equivalent Ni atoms to form GeNi12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent GeNi12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent NiNi8Ge4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent GeNi12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent NiNi8Ge4 cuboctahedra.

Materials Data on NiGe2 by Materials Project

NiGe2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmce space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ni is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to one Ni and eight Ge atoms. The Ni–Ni bond length is 2.52 Å. There are a spread of Ni–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.51–2.54 Å. There are two inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ni and one Ge atom. The Ge–Ge bond length is 2.55 Å. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded to four equivalent Ni atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing GeNi4 tetrahedra.

In the tenth Ni site, Ni is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to five Ni and six Ge atoms. The Ni–Ni bond length is 2.49 Å. There are a spread of Ni–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.42–2.90 Å. There are seven inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten Ni atoms. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Ni atoms. NiGe3 is alpha bismuth trifluoride structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ni is bonded to twelve Ge atoms to form NiGe12 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, corners with eight equivalent GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra. There are eight shorter (2.82 Å) and four longer (2.90 Å) Ni–Ge bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Ge sites. In the first Ge site, Ge is bonded to four equivalent Ni and eight Ge atoms to form GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra. There are four shorter (2.82 Å) and four longer (2.90 Å) Ge–Ge bond lengths. In the second Ge site, Ge is bonded to four equivalent Ni and eight equivalent Ge atoms to form GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, corners with eight equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra.

Ni4Ge crystallizes in the trigonal R-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are eight inequivalent Ni sites. In the first Ni site, Ni is bonded to nine Ni and three equivalent Ge atoms to form distorted NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, edges with eighteen NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (2.48 Å) and six longer (2.64 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. All Ni–Ge bond lengths are 2.45 Å. In the second Ni site, Ni is bonded to twelve Ni atoms to form NiNi12 cuboctahedra that share corners with three equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, corners with nine NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, edges with three equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-one NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, and faces with eighteen NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (2.45 Å) and six longer (2.64 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. In the third Ni site, Ni is bonded to twelve Ni atoms to form NiNi12 cuboctahedra that share corners with three equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, corners with nine NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, edges with three equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-one NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, and faces with eighteen NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (2.48 Å) and six longer (2.64 Å) Ni–Ni bond lengths. In the seventh Ni site, Ni is bonded to sixteen Ni atoms to form NiNi16 cuboctahedra that share corners with three equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, corners with nineteen NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, edges with three equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-one NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, and faces with thirty-four NiNi12 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Ni–Ni bond distances ranging from 2.48–5.27 Å. In the eighth Ni site, Ni is bonded to nine Ni and three equivalent Ge atoms to form distorted NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra that share corners with seventeen NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, and faces with fifteen NiNi16 cuboctahedra. All Ni–Ni bond lengths are 2.64 Å. All Ni–Ge bond lengths are 2.45 Å. Ge is bonded to six equivalent Ni and six equivalent Ge atoms to form distorted GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra that share corners with six NiNi12 cuboctahedra, corners with six equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, edges with eighteen NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent GeNi6Ge6 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent NiNi9Ge3 cuboctahedra. All Ge–Ge bond lengths are 2.64 Å.

Ge is bonded to four equivalent Ni and eight equivalent Ge atoms to form GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent NiGe12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent GeNi4Ge8 cuboctahedra. All Ge–Ge bond lengths are 2.85 Å.
