Novel features of attractors and transseries in nonconformal Bjorken flows

In this work we investigate the impact of conformal symmetry breaking on hydrodynamization of a far-from-equilibrium fluid. We find a new kind of transseries solutions for the nonconformal hydrodynamic equations of a longitudinal boost invariant expanding plasma. The new transseries solutions unveil a rich physical structure which arises due to the interplay of different physical scales. In the perfect fluid case the nonconformal speed of sound slows down the cooling of the temperature due to the emergence of logarithmic corrections that depends on the mass of the particle. Further, these terms propagate into the perturbative and nonperturbative sectors of the transseries once viscous corrections are included. The logarithmic mass contributions increase the asymptotic value of the Knudsen number while decreasing the damping rate of the transient nonhydrodynamic modes and thus, yielding to an extremely slow hydrodynamization process where flow lines merge to their forward attractor at extremely late times. The early time free streaming expansion is modified and receives logarithmic mass corrections induced by the shear-bulk couplings. The global flow structure and numerical analyses carried out in our work demonstrate the existence of local attraction at early and late times for the shear viscous tensor and bulk viscous pressure.

Two-loop radiative jet function for exclusive B-meson and Higgs decays

The rare radiative B -meson decay \( {B}^{-}\to \gamma {\mathrm{\ell}}^{-}\overline{v} \) and the radiative Higgs-boson decay h → γγ mediated by light-quark loops both receive large logarithmic corrections in QCD, which can be resummed using factorization theorems derived in soft-collinear effective theory. In these factorization theorems the same radiative jet function appears, which is a central object in the study of factorization beyond the leading order in scale ratios. We calculate this function at two-loop order both in momentum space and in a dual space, where its renormalization-group evolution takes on a simpler form. We also derive the two-loop anomalous dimension of the jet function and present the exact solution to its evolution equation at two-loop order. Another important outcome of our analysis is the explicit form of the two-loop anomalous dimension of the B -meson light-cone distribution amplitude in momentum space.

TRT Compton Scattering Data: Comparisons between LLNL and LANL: Pointwise

This memo is one of a pair of reports comparing Compton scattering data in the context of thermal radiation transport (TRT). This document focuses on Pointwise (PW) data while the other report focuses on Multigroup (MG) data. These complementary analyses, via PW comparisons, show if the same physics are used and if fundamental bugs are present, and, via MG comparisons, quantify macroscopic Compton effects such as mean amplification factors. No averaging of Compton data over photon energy is done for the PW comparisons, while lab-dependent numerical resolution choices become relevant for the MG comparisons. This document plots and quantifies differences in PW Compton scattering data between LANL and LLNL for four disparate temperatures on a logarithmically-spaced energy grid. PW comparisons means we use the received LLNL data as-is, without any averaging or integration over energy. In addition to LANL-to-LLNL comparisons, we investigate the impact of numerical choices on LANL PW data. For the purposes of this comparison, we neglect induced scattering.

Quark sivers function at small x: spin-dependent odderon and the sub-eikonal evolution

We apply the formalism developed earlier for studying transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) at small Bjorken x to construct the small- x asymptotics of the quark Sivers function. First, we explicitly construct the complete fundamental “polarized Wilson line” operator to sub-sub-eikonal order: this object can be used to study a variety of quark TMDs at small x . We then express the quark Sivers function in terms of dipole scattering amplitudes containing various components of the “polarized Wilson line” and show that the dominant (eikonal) term which contributes to the quark Sivers function at small x is the spin-dependent odderon, confirming the re- cent results of Dong, Zheng and Zhou. Our conclusion is also similar to the case of the gluon Sivers function derived by Boer, Echevarria, Mulders and Zhou. We also analyze the sub-eikonal corrections to the quark Sivers function using the constructed “polarized Wilson line” operator. We derive new small- x evolution equations re-summing double-logarithmic powers of α s ln 2 (1 /x ) with α s the strong coupling constant. We solve the corresponding novel evolution equations in the large- N c limit, obtaining a sub-eikonal correction to the spin-dependent odderon contribution. We conclude that the quark Sivers function at small x receives contributions from two terms and is given by ${f}_{1T}^{\perp q}\left(x,{k}_T^2\right)={C}_O\left(x,{k}_T^2\right)\frac{1}{x}+{C}_1\left({k}_T^2\right){\left(\frac{1}{x}\right)}^0+\cdots$ with the function C O ( x, ${k}_T^2$) varying slowly with x and the ellipsis denoting the subasymptotic and sub-sub-eikonal (order- x ) corrections.
