Millimeter-Wave Technology Demonstration for Geothermal Direct Energy Drilling (Final Scientific/Technical Report)
Millimeter-Wave (MMW) Drilling represents a compelling, novel approach to address the challenges of deep drilling for geothermal wells. This report summarizes the activities of the MMW drilling research project funded by ARPA-e, where MMW drilling performance (depth, rate of penetration) was significantly improved upon the prior achievements at MIT.
