Materials Data on MgBe3 by Materials Project
MgBe3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Be atoms. There are six shorter (2.63 Å) and six longer (2.75 Å) Mg–Be bond lengths. Be is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Mg and six equivalent Be atoms. There are two shorter (2.16 Å) and four longer (2.20 Å) Be–Be bond lengths.
