Materials Data on TiP2 by Materials Project

TiP2 is Cotunnite structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ti4+ is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine P2- atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.52–2.67 Å. There are two inequivalent P2- sites. In the first P2- site, P2- is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ti4+ and two equivalent P2- atoms. Both P–P bond lengths are 2.59 Å. In the second P2- site, P2- is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ti4+ and four P2- atoms. Both P–P bond lengths are 2.35 Å.

Materials Data on Ti2P by Materials Project

Ti2P crystallizes in the hexagonal P-62m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are twelve inequivalent Ti sites. In the first Ti site, Ti is bonded to four P atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing TiP4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.43 Å) and two longer (2.51 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the second Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.66–2.71 Å. In the third Ti site, Ti is bonded to four P atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing TiP4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.43 Å) and two longer (2.51 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the fourth Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.66–2.71 Å. In the fifth Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are four shorter (2.66 Å) and one longer (2.71 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the sixth Ti site, Ti is bonded to four P atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing TiP4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.43 Å) and two longer (2.51 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the seventh Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are four shorter (2.66 Å) and one longer (2.70 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the eighth Ti site, Ti is bonded to four P atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing TiP4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.43 Å) and two longer (2.51 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the ninth Ti site, Ti is bonded to four P atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing TiP4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.43 Å) and two longer (2.51 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the eleventh Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are four shorter (2.66 Å) and one longer (2.71 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the twelfth Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are four shorter (2.66 Å) and one longer (2.71 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. There are seven inequivalent P sites. In the first P site, P is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Ti atoms. In the second P site, P is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Ti atoms. Materials Data on Ti3P by Materials Project

Ti3P crystallizes in the tetragonal P4_2/n space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Ti sites. In the first Ti site, Ti is bonded in a distorted bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent P atoms. There are one shorter (2.52 Å) and one longer (2.56 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the second Ti site, Ti is bonded in a distorted see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent P atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.55–2.61 Å. In the third Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three equivalent P atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.48–2.63 Å. P is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Ti atoms.

Materials Data on Ti4P3 by Materials Project

Ti4P3 crystallizes in the cubic I-43d space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ti+2.25+ is bonded to six equivalent P3- atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing TiP6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 19–48°. There are three shorter (2.46 Å) and three longer (2.68 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. P3- is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent Ti+2.25+ atoms.

Ti5P3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are four inequivalent Ti sites. In the first Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.39–2.86 Å. In the second Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.39–2.65 Å. In the third Ti site, Ti is bonded to five P atoms to form distorted edge-sharing TiP5 square pyramids. There are three shorter (2.55 Å) and two longer (2.58 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. In the fourth Ti site, Ti is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five P atoms. There are a spread of Ti–P bond distances ranging from 2.39–2.66 Å. There are two inequivalent P sites. In the first P site, P is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven Ti atoms. In the second P site, P is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Ti atoms.

TiP crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ti3+ is bonded to five equivalent P3- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing TiP5 trigonal bipyramids. All Ti–P bond lengths are 2.44 Å. P3- is bonded to five equivalent Ti3+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing PTi5 trigonal bipyramids.

Materials Data on TiP by Materials Project

TiP is Molybdenum Carbide MAX Phase-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ti3+ is bonded to six P3- atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing TiP6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–47°. There are three shorter (2.44 Å) and three longer (2.56 Å) Ti–P bond lengths. There are two inequivalent P3- sites. In the first P3- site, P3- is bonded to six equivalent Ti3+ atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and edge-sharing PTi6 pentagonal pyramids. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 4°. In the second P3- site, P3- is bonded to six equivalent Ti3+ atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing PTi6 octahedra.
