2025 Peregrine in-situ monitoring and training dataset for laser powder bed fusion and binder jet printers

Peregrine, a software tool developed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), was used to collect and analyze in-situ monitoring (ISM) data from a Concept Laser M2 (Colibrium Additive) laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) printer and an ExOne Innovent (Desktop Metal) binder jet printer. Data for four builds (print jobs) were saved to HDF5 (high performance data) files for release. Additionally, process anomalies were annotated by the authors across 37 image stacks (i.e., print layers) and are also provided as HDF5 files.

Windows Program For Driving The TDU-850 Printer

Program provides WYSIWYG compatibility between video display and printout. PDW is Microsoft Windows printer-driver computer program for use with Raytheon TDU-850 printer. Provides previously unavailable linkage between printer and IBM PC-compatible computers running Microsoft Windows. Enhances capabilities of Raytheon TDU-850 hardcopier by emulating all textual and graphical features normally supported by laser/ink-jet printers and makes printer compatible with any Microsoft Windows application. Also provides capabilities not found in laser/ink-jet printer drivers by providing certain Windows applications with ability to render high quality, true gray-scale photographic hardcopy on TDU-850. Written in C language.

Concept for high speed computer printer

Printer uses Kerr cell as light shutter for controlling the print on photosensitive paper. Applied to output data transfer, the information transfer rate of graphic computer printers could be increased to speeds approaching the data transfer rate of computer central processors /5000 to 10,000 lines per minute/.

Printer Graphics Package

Printer Graphics Package (PGP) is tool for making two-dimensional symbolic plots on line printer. PGP created to support development of Heads-Up Display (HUD) simulation. Standard symbols defined with HUD in mind. Available symbols include circle, triangle, quadrangle, window, line, numbers, and text. Additional symbols easily added or built up from available symbols.

Interface Circuit For Printer Port

Electronic circuit, called printer-port interface circuit (PPI) developed to overcome certain disadvantages of previous methods for connecting IBM PC or PC-compatible computer to other equipment. Has both reading and writing modes of operation. Very simple, requiring only six integrated circuits. Provides for moderately fast rates of transfer of data and uses existing unmodified circuit card in IBM PC. When used with appropriate software, circuit converts printer port on IBM PC, XT, AT, or compatible personal computer to general purpose, 8-bit-data, 16-bit address bus that connects to multitude of devices.

Custom 3D Printers Revolutionize Space Supply Chain

Under a series of SBIR contracts with Marshall Space Flight Center, start-up company Made In Space, located on the center's campus, developed a high-precision 3D printer capable of manufacturing items in microgravity. The company will soon have a printer installed on the International Space Station, altering the space supply chain. It will print supplies and tools for NASA, as well as nanosatellite shells and other items for public and private entities.

Material extrusion with integrated compression molding of NdFeB/SmFeN nylon bonded magnets using small- and large-scale pellet-based 3D-printers

High-density bonded rare-earth magnets are manufactured using pellet-fed additive manufacturing (AM)/material extrusion and an integrated additive manufacturing-compression molding (AM-CM) process. Neodymium iron boron – samarium iron nitride in polyamide 12 (NdFeB-SmFeN/PA12) of 93 % weight fraction (65 % volume fraction) are used for the study. The mechanical properties (tensile strength and modulus), magnetic properties (maximum energy density, coercivity, remanence) are reported. Manufacturing parameters such as layer height, barrel temperatures, screw speed and gantry feed rate are optimized to obtain the highest possible density of the magnets using a small-scale desktop material extrusion printer. Large scale integrated additive manufacturing-compression molding (AM-CM) is then utilized to increase the density of the magnets by reducing porosity defects common in the material extrusion process. The density of as-printed magnets was 5.2 g/cm 3 with a BH max value of 124.14 kJ/m 3 , tensile strength of 20 MPa and a modulus of 2 GPa. AM-CM increased the density of the compound by 5.5 % (5.49 g/cm 3 ). The reduction in porosity was confirmed using X-ray tomography (XCT). Improvement in mechanical strength of the material was also observed, with an increase in tensile strength of 25 % (25.09 MPa) and increase in tensile modulus of 275 % (5.49 GPa). Scanning electron microscopy showed increased particle-matrix adhesion with the integrated AM-CM process.

Graphics-Printing Program For The HP Paintjet Printer

IMPRINT utility computer program developed to print graphics specified in raster files by use of Hewlett-Packard Paintjet(TM) color printer. Reads bit-mapped images from files on UNIX-based graphics workstation and prints out three different types of images: wire-frame images, solid-color images, and gray-scale images. Wire-frame images are in continuous tone or, in case of low resolution, in random gray scale. In case of color images, IMPRINT also prints by use of default palette of solid colors. Written in C language.

Development of a Novel DIW-PuSL Printer: The xPuSL Project

During my internship at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, I contributed to the xPuSL project. The xPuSL project aimed to revolutionize multi-material 3D printing by combining DIW and PuSL techniques to produce complex geometries with functional materials. My role encompassed process engineering, control systems, experimentation, and CAD design, leading to a streamlined workflow from CAD models to xPuSL prints.
