Materials Data on ScBePt2 by Materials Project
BeScPt2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two BeScPt2 ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Be2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Be–Pt bond lengths are 2.18 Å. Sc2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Sc–Pt bond lengths are 2.30 Å. Pt2- is bonded in a linear geometry to one Be2+ and one Sc2+ atom.
