Materials Data on SmZn2 by Materials Project
SmZn2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Zn atoms. There are a spread of Sm–Zn bond distances ranging from 3.11–3.32 Å. Zn is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Sm and four equivalent Zn atoms. There are a spread of Zn–Zn bond distances ranging from 2.61–2.95 Å.
