Materials Data on SrMgGe by Materials Project
MgSrGe crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Ge atoms. There are one shorter (3.28 Å) and four longer (3.34 Å) Sr–Ge bond lengths. Mg is bonded to four equivalent Ge atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing MgGe4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Mg–Ge bond distances ranging from 2.82–3.03 Å. Ge is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Sr and four equivalent Mg atoms.
