Materials Data on SrZn by Materials Project

ZnSr crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Zn atoms. There are a spread of Sr–Zn bond distances ranging from 3.34–3.54 Å. Zn is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Sr and two equivalent Zn atoms. Both Zn–Zn bond lengths are 2.68 Å.

Polar oxysulfide for nonlinear optical applications

Single crystals of a new noncentrosymmetric polar oxysulfide SrZn 2 S 2 O (s.g. Pmn2 1 ) grown in a eutectic KF-KCl flux with unusual wurtzite-like slabs consisting of close-packed corrugated double layers of ZnS3O tetrahedra vertically separated from each other by Sr atoms and methods of making same.
