Materials Data on TbHg2 by Materials Project

TbHg2 crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one TbHg2 sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Tb is bonded in a distorted hexagonal planar geometry to six equivalent Hg atoms. All Tb–Hg bond lengths are 3.11 Å. Hg is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to three equivalent Tb atoms.

Materials Data on TbHg2 by Materials Project

TbHg2 crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Tb is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten equivalent Hg atoms. There are a spread of Tb–Hg bond distances ranging from 3.18–3.36 Å. Hg is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Tb and three equivalent Hg atoms. There are two shorter (3.01 Å) and one longer (3.18 Å) Hg–Hg bond lengths.

Materials Data on TbHg2 by Materials Project

TbHg2 crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Tb is bonded to twelve equivalent Hg atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and face-sharing TbHg12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.33 Å) and six longer (3.38 Å) Tb–Hg bond lengths. Hg is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Tb and three equivalent Hg atoms. All Hg–Hg bond lengths are 2.87 Å.
