Nuclear Weapons Theater Experience_V1

The theater experience is driven by the big message of nuclear deterrence through successful stockpile stewardship. This job enables other national and global security work with roots going back to the capabilities developed during the Manhattan Project and honed through the history of this successor scientific laboratory. The story that unfolds uses a narrative (traditional film-type approach), although the theater setup would offer immersion and decision-making (audience participation). The idea is to demonstrate how and why the Laboratory continues its mission in maintaining the nation’s stockpile while concurrently enabling the ever-evolving multi-disciplinary science and technology innovations developed for that purpose to take other scientists along vibrant paths.

Incident exercise in a virtual environment

An incident simulation system supports an incident exercise in a virtual environment. The incident simulation system accesses a simulation plan defining an incident within a theater of operation. The incident simulation system simulates the incident exercise by displaying, to a participant in the incident exercise, images representing what the participant would see within the theater of operation as the participant moves within the theater of operation. The incident simulation system further simulates the incident by generating incident data indicating effects of the incident at target locations and at target times as the participant moves within the theater of operation. The incident simulation system further simulates the incident by displaying to the participant images representing the user experience that a detector would provide based on the generated incident data.

Space environment considerations for perovskite solar cell operations: A review

Designing new technology for extraterrestrial applications certainly presents unique challenges. The environmental stressors perovskite-based photovoltaics must overcome will vary with the environment in which they are deployed. One must consider mission requirements when designing photovoltaic devices and packaging. Different space "theaters" can have dramatically different stressors needing consideration for designing panels for solar power generation. Here, in this article, we review the relevant space environmental conditions that must be considered when designing perovskite-based photovoltaic devices for implementation in space. We specifically consider thermal, radiation, gaseous, weather, and other phenomena most relevant to photovoltaic operation for specific theaters such as Low Earth Orbit, Geosynchronous Orbit, Lunar surface, Mars (orbit and surface), and interplanetary exploration pathways.
