NASA/DOD Aerospace Knowledge Diffusion Research Project. Report 11: Chronology of selected literature, reports, policy instruments, and significant events affecting Federal Scientific and Technical Information (STI) in the United States

The chronology is a comprehensive bibliography. It contains 512 entries covering a variety of selected literature, reports, policy instruments, and significant events affecting Federal Scientific and Technical Information (STI) from 1945 to 1990. It includes some publications and events of historic interest which relate to the evaluation of aerospace and aerospace knowledge diffusion. Each entry has been given an item number and items are arranged by columns. To provide an overview of Federal STI developments, the entries are generally arranged by date of publication and event.

PEC Performance Measures from Literature Reports

This dataset is a capture of PEC experimental performance metrics data aggregated from publications and included here in the measurement and format provided by the authors. The measurements captured are based on rate of hydrogen production by PEC devices under illumination. Original creator of this dataset: Wen-Hui (Sophia) Cheng (National Cheng Kung University) Contributors to this dataset: Joel Ager (LBNL), H. Nishiyama et al. (Meiji University), I. Holmes-Gentle (EPFL), Yanfa Yan (University of Toledo), Aditya Mohite (Rice University), Zetian Mi (University of Michigan).

Investigation of electroforming techniques, literature analysis report

A literature analysis is presented of reports, specifications, and documented experiences with the use of electroforming to produce copper and nickel structures for aerospace and other engineering applications. The literature period covered is from 1948 to 1974. Specific effort was made to correlate mechanical property data for the electrodeposited material with known electroforming solution compositions and operating conditions. From this survey, electrolytes are suggested for selection to electroform copper and nickel outer shells on regeneratively cooled thrust chamber liners, and other devices subject to thermal and pressure exposure, based on mechanical properties obtainable, performance under various thermal environments, and ease of process control for product reproducibility. Processes of potential value in obtaining sound bonds between electrodeposited copper and nickel and copper alloy substrates are also discussed.

Utilization of Existing Pipelines in Hydrogen Transport: Literature Review Report

This report critically reviews the flow behavior of hydrogen-natural gas (H 2 -NG) mixtures in pipelines and examines the critical factors of hydrogen integration into existing natural gas infrastructure. It addresses the choking behavior characterized by velocity increase and pressure drop, as well as the effects of flow restrictions and pressure losses during hydrogen transport. Computational and analytical models are used to investigate these effects, and their effects on thermodynamic properties and system performance are evaluated. The study also reviews the energy efficiency and flow dynamics of hydrogen and methane-hydrogen mixtures and optimizes the hydrogen flow rate. In addition, the effects of these mixtures on the flow characteristics are discussed in detail, with special emphasis on the compressibility factor (z factor) and fluid properties based on equations of state for hydrogen-natural gas mixtures. The study also analyzes the mixture ratios and highlights the thermophysical properties, flow dynamics, and hydrogen-blended natural gas application potential. These investigations assess flow stability, material interactions, and operational feasibility of transporting hydrogen mixtures through natural gas pipelines, which contribute to developing sustainable and efficient energy systems.

High Energy Propellants: A Continuing Bibliography

Through its Continuing Bibliography Program, NASA will prepare and distribute a series of bibliographies devoted to specific subjects in the aerospace field. The subjects have been selected because of their significant relationship to current developments in the space program, and because of a clearly established interest in them on the part of aerospace specialists. In order to assure that future information will become available in an orderly manner, each Continuing Bibliography will be updated periodically in the form of supplements which can be appended to the original edition. High Energy Propellants , NASA-SP-7002, is the first publication to appear under this program. It presents a selection of annotated references to unclassified reports and journal articles announced in Technical Publications Announcements (TPA) , Scientific and Technical Aerospace Reports (STAR) , and International Aerospace Abstracts (IAA) . Prime emphasis is given to those references which are concerned with research and development studies on solid, liquid, and hybrid propellants and oxidizers, but the bibliography also provides extensive coverage of such related topics as propellant handling and storage, combustion characteristics, toxicity, and hazards and safety measures. Each entry in the bibliography consists of a citation and an abstract. The listing of entries is arranged in two major groups: all report literature references are contained in the first group and are subdivided according to their date of announcement in TPA and STAR ; the second group includes all published literature references subdivided according to their date of announcement in IAA . All reports and articles cited were introduced into the NASA Information System during the period January 1962-March, 1964.
